- Prime Debate : Kuwait Fire Accident : At least 49 people were killed in Kuwait on Wednesday after a fire broke out in a building housing foreign workers. A government agency for Keralites living outside the state said it had been told by the Indian community in Kuwait that 41 Indians, including 11 from Kerala, had died in the fire. The building, located in the Mangaf area in Kuwait’s southern Ahmadi Governorate, was housing over 160 workers. The fire started in a kitchen in the six-storey building.

ഞാനും ഇതേ NBTC കമ്പനിയിൽ ജോലി ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ട്. NBTC ആയാലും NSH ആയാലും, മലയാളി മാനേജ്‌മെൻ്റിന് കീഴിലുള്ള ഈ കമ്പനികൾ അവരുടെ ജീവനക്കാർക്ക് നരകമാണ്. അവർക്ക് വേണ്ടത് ജീവനക്കാരെയല്ല, അടിമകളെയാണ്.
ഈ ക്യാമ്പിന് തൊട്ടടുത്തുള്ള സമാനമായ ക്യാമ്പിലായിരുന്നു ഞാൻ. NBTC മാനേജ്‌മെൻ്റ് അവരുടെ ജീവനക്കാർക്ക് അടിസ്ഥാന സൗകര്യങ്ങളൊന്നും നൽകുന്നില്ല. എസി സംവിധാനം പോലും ശരിയായിരുന്നില്ല.പരാതി പറഞ്ഞിട്ട് കാര്യമില്ല.വേനൽക്കാലത്ത് ചൂടുകാരണം ഞങ്ങൾ വെറും തറയിലാണ് ഉറങ്ങിയിരുന്നത്. ഞങ്ങളുടെ ജോലി കരാറുമായി പോലും ബന്ധമില്ലാത്ത ജോലി ചെയ്യാൻ മാനേജ്‌മെൻ്റ് നിർബന്ധിക്കും. പുലർച്ചെ 4.45 ന് നിങ്ങളുടെ ബസ് പിടിക്കാൻ നിങ്ങൾ തയ്യാറായിരിക്കണം. 10 സ്റ്റാഫുകൾക്കുള്ള രണ്ട് ബാത്ത്റൂമുകൾ മാത്രമേ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നുള്ളൂ. അതിനാൽ നിങ്ങൾ അർദ്ധരാത്രി 3.00 മണിക്കെങ്കിലും ഉണരണം.
NBTC കമ്പനിയിലെ സ്റ്റാഫ് (എൻജിനീയർ) കാറ്റഗറിയിൽ ജോലി ചെയ്തിരുന്ന എൻ്റെ അനുഭവമാണിത്. പാവപ്പെട്ട തൊഴിലാളികളുടെ അവസ്ഥ ഇതിലും പരിതാപകരമാണ്. ജോലിക്കായി NBTC, NSH എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിൽ പോകുന്നത് ആത്മഹത്യ പോലെയാണ്.
പിന്നെ എന്തു കൊണ്ടാണ് എല്ലാവരും ഈ compony ഏറ്റവും നല്ലത് എന്ന് പറയുന്നത്.

All tragedies happening because our own people's as Arabs never compromise on such facilities and they give utmost priorities to human.life. Am an ex employee and I know about the fire and safety rules..but unfortunately it's happend...and top terrace area door also closed...its also one reason for increasing the death number....Gov munsipality is team have the responsibility.bcz they have to do checking...but here it's not happend..when I was there that time also inspectors will come but on that particular day the camp boss will instruct to remove all washed cloths from the balcony and stairs ...this stair is only option for come out..there is not lights and ventilation...
while inspection time these people adjusting acomodation accordingly and later same way

NBTC manager is telling lie.. In 2 bed room flat they accommodate 10 person where it should be 4 pers as per Kuwait law. Another thing is NBTC is not paying full salary to the workers.. They even not provide transport to airport and back while going on vacation.. Kuwait govt must be punish to all these NBTC management.. Indian govt must take up a case against these people...
This company is know for some inhuman activities against its employees ..
