Oh! Where has this man been all of my life? How am I just finding about his music now!? Listening to CBC Radio 2 this morning at 5:30am - heard this man and had a revelation! Instant fan!
Hi Nicole! I opened up for Tom back in 1999 here in Oshawa Ontario! He just went solo after leaving his band called Junk House. Him and Collin James are best friends! 3 months earlier I opened for Collin at the freedom fest at Tweed park. I didn't know they were friends and I was telling Tom back stage all about my show with Collin and how he sang nothing is better than freedom, just for tom to say, "ya I wrote that song for Collin, he's my best friend"! I was apart of their scene even if it was for only a short moment! While I was performing that night I broke a string on my first guitar and Tom came out on stage grabbed my guitar and went back stage put a new string on it and brought it back out to me! When it was his time to play he got and start to praise my songs and voice and I just couldn't love Tom anymore then I did at that moment... what an awesome guy! Then he sang about how it was just a matter of time before I get to shine! Thanks Tom! Rob Daniels was my stage name back then now I just go by my real name Danny Gravel. I have lots of original music videos on my channel you might like? Inspired by guys like Tom!
In the words of Tom Wilson “I sold chilli dogs and hash to tourists in Los Angeles” my dad was a big a fan of yours Tom, when he passed away I found your albums on his iPod and it brought me a bit of peace and ease listening to you.
Flats and Low did you leave town? Can I come back ? Can I get low down? I always tell the truth but for you I’d lie I can’t own you but I love to try [Chorus] How does it feel to be lying by your self? Your act oh you dear Tell me how does it feel [Verse 2] Let me put some sugar where they put salt The mistakes you made on all your fault Let me heal your scars and ease your mind Turn your deep blue heart in to the loving kind [Chorus] How does it feel to be lying by your self? Your act oh you dear Tell me how does it feel How does it feel? [Verse 3] You’ve been crying ‘bout the same thing every night How you out of love have you lost your fight There’s no easy way to pick up the slack You’re too young to lose and too old to get back [Chorus] How does it feel to be lying by your self? Your act oh you dear Tell me how does it feel How does it feel? How does it feel? How does it feel?
if I ever wondered why none of my buddies or musical peeps I hang with ever pointed me into their direction ... then now. My musical discovery 2019 (okay young, but tough to top)
You used the pedal too much i t doesn t sound right for this song and give a sound that might ccause an headache so don t do it later but i liked the song

@@dannygravel2938 Very cool, Danny. Thanks! :-)
@@nicolelewis1828, check out Colin James version too. Not as dark and painful as this but still a beautiful track.

Love this song, amazing piano and vocals
Wish this man was beside me ...in spirit he is ...
Tom's solo album Dog Years is a masterpiece. I haven't taken a road trip without a copy of that record in years.
Who's Tom ? and where can I find the Album Dog years?
Amazing voice and vibe - a heartbreaking song with raw power and emotion.
One of the best southern souls
