Don't knock it until you try it. It saved my dog's life. She went running towards a busy road and I called her name and "come." she kept on going. I'm disabled so going after her was not an option. Once I clicked the remote three times and called her name, as I was taught, she stopped dead in her tracks, turned around and came back. Had it not been for the collar she would have kept going. The collar does not hurt if used the right way.
