Thank you... great points... I am on both of sides of this issue, concerned and correcting the names I know...

I actually worry about this a lot when I read my 4 year old his book of Greek myths. I worry that he will be embarrassed by an incorrect pronunciation that I taught him. Also he hates it when my wife and I pronounce the names inconsistently because we both dont know.
Thank you for helping with one of my concerns.

You're very welcome! I suppose perhaps the best way to ensure he won't be embarrassed by someone correcting him would be to tell him that when it comes to nearly all of those Greek gods and people, almost nobody pronounces their names the way they're originally written, including the would-be correctors

If someone mispronounces a name or term, but in use or explanation seem to show a correct understanding, then I would actually admire them. It most likely means that they taught themselves, reading main or secondary sources rather than listening to TH-cam lectures or attending class. While help is useful in gaining an accurate understanding, someone may work hard and long to read, remember, and interpret a text.

I wouldn't draw that inference. I notice people from posh British schools tend to mispronounce names and terms consistently

No idea what those tiny emojis are supposed to be or convey

@GregoryBSadler those are celebration emojis for a well done video.

@@ralphjenkins1507 Yeah. Probably better to save them for someone who uses them. Just use words, since it's so much clearer

The philosopher Hans-Georg Moeller is German and pronounces "Immanuel Kant" wrong/in the English fashion, because if he pronounced it in the German fashion he would be flagged by TH-cam for profanity. Haha

Sounds dubious, since I pronounce it in the German manner in all of my many videos on him

That's fair, I think this guy's German accent makes it sound wayyy closer to the "U" sound/swear word though haha
