    Very good review, a little to long for my linking :) , but good ! I'm a little confused about the number of fans, seems ... to much, maybe. The idea of airflow, inside any case, is to have an equal number of fans for input and ouput, on opposite sides of the case, to obtain, at best, a laminar flow, which is desired. With you fans displaced like that, you'll get turbulent flow, no matter how you direct the air, because there are too many direction for the air flow. Just saying.

    What motherboard is this? I have the Asus Rog Strix z690-f will the Noctua D15 fit this motherboard without blocking anything?
    And is there a difference in upright orientation vs. side orientation?

    • @TheProvokedPrawn
      @TheProvokedPrawn  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      This is the Strix Z690-E Gaming Wi-Fi. You might have the same problem - ncc.noctua.at/motherboards/model/ASUS-ROG-Strix-Z690-F-Gaming-WiFi-5374
      Essentially it's in a sub-optimal position because ideally it should be sucking air from the front of the case and blowing hot air out of the back, but in this position it's essentially sucking warm air up from the GPU. It's still possible as you can see, but not ideal.

      It would be the most logical, that position is horrible not to mention that you can touch the second fan with the gpu in addition to covering the air inlet and the dust that would fall to the gpu, all the memories are covered and there are no holes to manage cables, it is horrible in all aspects, +1 for the NH-U12A is the biggest thing I would give it in air coolers. The double tower ones only give you headaches and cover the entire motherboard destroying all its aesthetics.

    I'm doing a build with the z690 aorus and a noctua nh d15 with an i7 12700k

    right?

    • @TheProvokedPrawn
      @TheProvokedPrawn  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I don't know about the 12700k the temps will probably be different. Even in my case it's fine for gaming. The point is this CPU runs hot. It's known for being hot. It's not the coolers. Fault. But this also isn't optimal positioning.
