I liked the first one of these that I got so much that I bought another. Got the green micarta/black finish and the blue micarta/satin finish versions. This knife just clicks on every level! I agree with your critiques of the knife 100%, but those missing "finishing touches" are probably why they're selling for around $50. It would be AWESOME if Vosteed started selling pieces like backspacers and filler tabs for their knives, if they did, I'm sure a lot of people like me would throw even more $$ their way. Glad you reviewed this, it's definitely an unexpected and impressive knife!
It is definitely how they're able to keep them more affordable. I try to bring it all up so people know what I'm thinking but I'll also usually say but we have to remember it's this (amount) etc. but thanks brother I appreciate it
I'm carrying my Vosteed Raccoon Black Nitro-V and all black Chipmunk as my secondary more than any of my others, absolutely love what Vosteed have been doing!
Thank you for such a wonderful video. You always do them so well, sir. I bought the acorn with a green handle and blackened blade. I love it. I especially love that. It had a 20% discount on Amazon. Awesome life tremendous value. Later, my brother. Oh almost forgot that I am carrying it today.
@@GBall_Vision alright man… I got the black version as well,,,had it for a few days now, it’s terrific! A few small annoyances right out of the box though…see if you agree (or at least acknowledge them). My scales were coated in oil, they obviously wanted to achieve a darker color of micarta OR maybe that’s just how Vosteed “treats” all their micarta. I gave them a bath and I’m totally happy with them now, of course they are actually a charcoal gray color…which I’m fine with. The other bothersome point to note…not coating the lockbar. It’s awesome that they did recessed liners, but with that part of the lockbar sticking out …it REALLY sticks out without coating, like the rest of the hardware. Of course this isn’t an issue if you got a different version. Neither of these issues make me think less of the knife, they are just production choices that I don’t agree with.
Just ordered the Pyrite light but this one is next on the list. Love the form of the Acorn. Plus no flipper tab is always a bonus. I feel like a gentleman's carry doesn't always have to be super slim this knife here is a prime example of that. Not large enough to scare regular folk but big enough to handle any tasks you may encounter when in a formal situation. Good video! And as far as the d-bags you're totally on point. Money well spent is money well spent no matter how you look at it.
So yea I got hooked on Vosteed recently….been using the Acorn a bunch and I recently got the mini psyop and it’s a banger as well. Keep up the awesome coverage cuz!
awesome brother. They definitely have. Just give me a little shout if you would any new brothers and sisters that come along is great especially right this minute 😂 9K I can taste it
@@GBall_Vision I think the Rock Jumper is an incredibly underrated knife. I love that blade shape, and handle shape together. It's like a cross between a Delica and a Stretch 2, but with a full Wharncliffe blade. I wish they'd do other versions in G10, and other materials but sadly I don't think it sold well enough but I'm glad I picked one up.
Great little knife. I got the green one when it was on sale. I’m wanting the mini Grouper now. Love Vosteed! You’re right about how much the knife industry has improved over the last twenty years. It’s remarkable, even for douche bags. 😂👊🏼
You're 100% right about getting "attached" to a brand. I think the new version of the Vosteed Raccoon with the top-liner/compression lock on it really drew me in to preferring Vosteed knives (right now). I currently have a dozen different knives of theirs (and 2+ of a few of them) with 4 more on the way (can't wait for the Ankylo to ship!). Vosteed seems to be firing on all cylinders right now. By the way @gball_vision I got the Mini-Lab in the mail on Saturday and absolutely love it! It keeps disappearing from my desk though because my son may like it even more than I do lol. Thanks again for getting that shipped out after Blade Show!
The hedgehog is great. I could help you a lot more if I knew knew more about your personal taste. Don't get that knife. Expecting it to be like a utility razor blade because it's meant more for abuse than it is to be a slicer. It is still Sharp but it is a little thicker so it is meant for a little bit more of an abuse than it is to be a razor, that's what I always tell everyone when they ask about that knife specifically
@@GBall_Vision I actually am a huge fan of big beefy blades, I like collecting those, I mainly use the same 4 knives nowadays for edc. My Spydie Rock Jumper, and Delica 4, or my Vosteed Raccoon, with my Kershaw Launch 19. I pretty much put everything else up or use it like a fidget spinner, lol 😂. I think the Hedgehog is one of like a lot, I like the overbuilt knives, they just feel like nothing else.
I’m like that with large rear flippers, especially when they protrude out from the handle when opened. Nothing wrong with having preferences with knives, there’s plenty to go around for all preferences. I like to have thumb studs, blade hole, or front flippers and combinations of those but I rarely like rear flippers unless they are very minimal and really nice to use.
Hm really? I don't find it that obtrusive whatsoever, especially compared to normal front flippers. This one is very subtle. But no big deal not to like something. I don't have an issue with either front or rear, unless it's overwhelming or ridiculous then I don't like it. But a prototypical front and rear flipper I love especially with studs or a cut out

One of my favorite edc blade shapes 👍🏿👍🏿
Agreed 💯💯 thanks brother
It's a nice-looking knife; nice, clean design. A great EDC knife.💥 go vosteed! 👍🏼
Thanks brother 🤜🏻💥
love the ergonomic shape of the handle
I like the looks of this a lot as a secondary carry
yes exactly! itd be a badass 2nd
Vosteed is killing it lately and I don't even really care about folders. I wish they would make some more fixed blades.
I'm sure we will see it soon 😃
I love this one. I can’t wait to be able to get one
They're really solid

I'll have a video coming on the light soon 😎😎
I got the green one while it was still on sale on Amazon. Great knife, I carry it everyday as my second knife.
That's awesome 😎 I think it would be a great second carry or fifth pocket
Really dig this little design. G9nna be a big ein for vosteed
Agreed 💯💯 just like the rest 😂😂

awesome knife
Acorn is a sweet knife! Got to handle my friend's version of it and I think it's a great little knife.
Agreed 💯💯 it's really solid 🤜🏻
Great observations! I'm putting together an episode on how knives have improved, I'll be stealing a few of your points 😅

@@GBall_Vision definitely!
Today I'm carrying a Soyderco Rock Jumper in VG10 and a Soyderco Delica 4 in M4 inside the Hide and Drink.
Great carry 🔥🔥

woooooooooooooo
I'm thinking at this point the filler tabs are just to expensive to make for some companies 😮😅😊
😂😂😂 seriously charge me the extra 13 cents and put it on. Oh sorry 33 cents with the screws too 😂😂
I'm thinking about picking up the Hedgehog next, what's your opinion on that model?

I used to carry my PM2 a lot, but I recently retired it.

With that horn sticking up there for front-flipping automatic pass for me.
