@WeAreProWrestling Hey James, I have a couple of suggestions for topics you might want to consider covering. 1) Piper's time in Mid-Atlantic and Georgia. 2) Piper's full history with Flair starting with their feud in Mid-Atlantic and going through to their time in WWE together.
Your right James, Piper should have won the world title from Hogan at Starrcade 1996, and that was the perfect opportunity for him to at least hold a world title one time in his career.
Roddy Piper WCW's run was a mixed bag. The good: The feud with Hollywood Hogan and The NWO was awesome. The bad: His booking. Roody Piper's Best WCW matches: With Ric Flair and Kevin Greene vs The Wolfpac Slamboree 1997 vs Ric Flair Bash At The Beach 1997
I think pipers presences helped Wcw for a bit! It was needed whether it made sense or not! And yes he needed to win the championship at least once in his wcw run!
According to Nash, regarding his fight with Piper, he told him to not start the match hot. And Piper did it anyway. Also, apparently Piper went into business for himself during his match with Hall at SuperBrawl IX. Piper was completely unprofessional on both of those occasions.
I’ll have Piper hold the World title until January of 1997 where he’ll drop it to Hollywood Hogan . In the interim, I’ll have Piper be a presence on TV, accepting challenges from anybody left and right and he can engage in promo duels against Hogan and Bischoff.
I say you swap main events if you do that. Have rematch headline Souled Out (had that idea as was) and have Savage turn there, then do Giant at SuperBrawl. Still accomplish same stuff, but in a better way.
Personally I would have had Piper win the title at Starrcade 1996 then drop it exactly how he lost at SuperBrawl VII back to Hogan. Piper deserved a World Title run
That Piper segment on Nitro where he was picking his team for Uncensored was HORRIBLE. I’ve even heard Disco Inferno on his Keepin it 100 podcast say the same thing.
The other 2 besides Tenta were actors Layton Morrison(the kickboxer) & Craig Mally(the boxer) Mally was in some movies with Piper & made some cameos here and there early on in Piper's WCW run
From The Vault episode schedule 291-299; Episode 300 is a secret(for now) 291: Spring Stampede 1994 292: Spring Stampede 2000 293: Slamboree 1994 294: Slamboree 1999 295: Raven In WCW 296: Owen Hart 25 Years Later 297: In Your House Beware Of Dog 1 & 2 298: Mick Foley In The WWE 299: Cactus Jack In WCW
Questions What did you think of piper in alcatraz 2. Did you think randy savage would have done that at superbrawl 3. James you would agree that in 1999 and 2000 was the worst in piper's career
1. Very interesting & a great promo 2. At the time watching no; now if it would happen it would have been predictable 3. Late 99/Early 00 was not a great time for Piper
Roddy Piper's run in WCW..it was hit and miss. Sure he had 3 or 4 great matches against Hogan and a couple of matches with Flair, but the way he was booked was really questionable. It was really somewhat weird given how Piper won the US title and it was his only title win in WCW, granted he should've won the WCW world title at either Superbrawl or Starrcade. Between his time in the WWF and WCW, I think he was booked better in the WWF than in WCW, but that's just me.
Four questions for you. 1. Which match was more of A miss opportunity: Austin versus Hogan or Hogan vs Ric ? 2. Do you think Piper should have stayed in the wwf ? 3. Do you think Foley and piper could have been A great feud ? 4. And would you like to have seen A prime Austin vs Prime Piper.
Since Hogan didn't want to drop WCW World Title to Roddy Piper and Lex Luger beat Hogan and lost it just one week. Would you consider Hogan's WCW World Title Reign The Reign of Terror in WCW but yeah WCW would do bigger.
It wasn't a case of Hogan didn't want to drop the belt to Piper, it was a case of they had a plan and didn't want to deviate from it Not a "Reign Of Terror"
I'll never understand why wcw just didn't have the title on the line at starrcade 1996 I mean just have piper beat hogan for the title then have him drop it back to hogan at superbrawl 1997 they were going to do the rematch anyway so why not.

Piper winning the title at Starrcade '96 would have made the most sense in the world. Short reign? Yes.....but he had earned it.
Your right James, Piper should have won the world title from Hogan at Starrcade 1996, and that was the perfect opportunity for him to at least hold a world title one time in his career.
They gave Luger a 5 day title run there; they could have given Piper a month or 2

good video

A common theme from Piper's run is, 'in, out, in, out, in, out.'
Piper only had a select number of dates per year; which lead to constant "in and outs"
According to Nash, regarding his fight with Piper, he told him to not start the match hot. And Piper did it anyway. Also, apparently Piper went into business for himself during his match with Hall at SuperBrawl IX. Piper was completely unprofessional on both of those occasions.
That match needed to start hot it was a hot feud
I sort felt bad for piper because he said in a shoot interview he would’ve retired but money issues lead to him continuing to wrestle with wcw
He was awesome

I Wonder Episode 300 Will Be Good Video On Piper In WCW
Personally I would have had Piper win the title at Starrcade 1996 then drop it exactly how he lost at SuperBrawl VII back to Hogan. Piper deserved a World Title run
Same

From The Vault episode schedule 291-299; Episode 300 is a secret(for now)
291: Spring Stampede 1994
292: Spring Stampede 2000
293: Slamboree 1994
294: Slamboree 1999
295: Raven In WCW
296: Owen Hart 25 Years Later
297: In Your House Beware Of Dog 1 & 2
298: Mick Foley In The WWE
299: Cactus Jack In WCW
What exactly will be discussed in episode 296? I ask because I know you're never going to cover the Over the Edge event itself.
@@Tubewings It's gonna be an episode on Owen Hart
Roddy Piper among with Scott Hall are the Greatest Wrestler of All Time to never Won World Title in WWF/WWE and WCW.
Hogan and Piper shudder traded titles.

Hoooooot Rooooood😅😅
Yes at superbrawl and have it for a month.
For me Starrcade & 2 months; win it in December, lose it in February
Four questions for you.
1. Which match was more of A miss opportunity: Austin versus Hogan or Hogan vs Ric ?
2. Do you think Piper should have stayed in the wwf ?
3. Do you think Foley and piper could have been A great feud ?
4. And would you like to have seen A prime Austin vs Prime Piper.
1. Austin/Hogan; we eventually got Hogan/Flair
2. No; there was nothing left for him to do there
3. Maybe
4. Would have been interesting

They had a plan and wanted to stick to it(only reason they ever deviated from it was people went to bat for Luger & Hogan agreed)
