In the movie, they do turn out to be friendly (Especially when you know they they’re only lost children trying to find peace, even when killers are on the loose). The idea of good Animatronics isn’t lost within the FNAF franchise.

To be honest I used to think they were just so mad about Afton killing them that they went crazy, and would just killed anyone as EVERY adult looks would like Afton to them. But then the movie came out and.....yeah I was mistaken.
