I kinda learned this by accident a few years ago when noodling around with "Lion Sleeps Tonight", but your explanatory breakdown showed me a little something I was missing, the alternating bassline. Got it now! Another fantastic lesson! (I watch all of them, but very rarely comment)
The groove sounds great without the palm muting and it even grooves on a high G too. Low G sounds great, the groove sounds great. Enjoy it and experiment with different genres. It blends really well with these chord changing techniques too th-cam.com/video/T-18byGBiPo/w-d-xo.html some cool ways to make the basic very fun and flashy.
I am just learning, but allow me to shorten that lesson up for you: Pluck, brush up, brush down, pluck, brush up, brush down. Alternate the plucks between string 4 and string 3l

Sitting in silence with just my thumb going up and down on the strings, it was an amazing upgrade to my country skills too.

That alternating bass gives it so much flavor!
Love the 'Banjo' tone trick at the bridge . . . very 'Deliverance' :)
I NEED to do dueling banjos
@@TenThumbsProductions YES, YES, YES!!
Cool, I'm practicing it on a concert but it's got a low g so it should be fine anyway, except the palm muting later on perhaps.
