Nice video! I'm teaching on Cambly now (just entering my 5th week !). Yes, I like the library of resources on there! How is the curriculum set up on Preply.... do you more or less have to design your own curriculum or do they supply a curriculum/lessons but you're saying they are not as good as Cambly? Not sure on that bit? I'm looking for a second platform to supplement Cambly pay but I don't have any extra time to design my own lessons !:). Thank you!
In my opinion, Preply's curriculum library is very easy to implement. Since I'm a mom with a toddler, I don't have time to sit and create ESL curriculum. Preply has a wide variety in their curriculum library for diverse student interest. Also, with Preply, you can set your rate versus Cambly which is a flat rate of pay. If I were you, I would use Preply first (able to adjust rate) and then Cambly as my secondary supplement pay since you can hop on Cambly's priority hours when you don't have Preply lessons scheduled. Hope this helps you! 😀
Yes, but be careful! Your inbox will be swarmed with students asking for lessons and your schedule becoming filled immediately. You will want to have a strategy to increase your rate over time. So suggest starting with a low rate, and then slowly increasing it after a milestone number of classes (Example: slowly increase your rate after 5 classes with each student.) You don't want to burn out teaching high volumes of classes for very low pay. However, if you have a strategy to start with a low rate to gain students and then increase your rate, it will help you find the students who are the best fit as you will hopefully increase your classes taught number and gaining more student reviews. Hope this video was a help to you! 😀
Greatly informative video! Thank you. Do you know currently if there are group classes across the board? I believe I saw where the classes now consist of four students to one teacher. Thank you!
Were you able to start with "Cambly Kids" or are you still waiting? I'm planning to apply for both Camby versions and I'm definitely going to try Preply too. I"m disabled with MS so either one of these would be a savior for me. Thanks for the video and info!

Very great advice. This deserves a lot of views. I think lowering my rate is definitely something I have to do at the beginning

Great question! I'm not sure if group classes are currently available. I haven't heard anything on my end regarding them.

I applied for Cambly Kids after I finished my Cambly application. I still haven't heard anything back from Cambly Kids.
Life saver
So glad this was able to help you!
Is preply still hiring now? Thanks
Preply is always taking applications for new tutors due to the various time zones and student access from all over the world.
