I always wondered why some of my fellow Filipinos would not like them. In my teenage years, we liked Rivermaya, Parokya ni Edgar and Eraserheads. Most of them, if not all, were not visually attractive. What you mentioned about some Filipinos you met in Korea who also did not like SB19 just because they are so-called "not attractive" is so foreign to me and in my opinion, is very petty, and extremely superficial. I think this concept of not liking someone (or to the point of hating them) is PARTIALLY East Asian and PARTIALLY Western facade-materialistic influences, which are unpleasant and unwelcome. This is not progress. We should only welcome influences that will make us a better person and a better society.

Super agree with you on the part that MORE FILIPINOS SHOULD SUPPORT THE FILIPINO IDOL GROUPS.
If Filipinos can support KPOP and many other foreign music/idols, it shouldn't be hard to give chance and listen and watch the Filipino Idol groups that champion the PPOP scene today.
SB19 spearheaded this era of making modern Pinoy music/PPOP go global.
I'm also a fan of BINI and BGYO.
But I want to be more specific with the group ALAMAT.
If there is one thing that Alamat is applauded for, it is their consistent efforts to champion Philippine cultures through their crafts. ❤

SB19's music saved alot of people, fans just don't love them by their looks or their talent but also the relatability and connection between the idols and the fans is truly intact and special. I've been in depression before getting in to sb19 and now i can say that their music is what made me cope through that sad stage and keeps me moving in this life. SB19 is the reason why the world is still beautiful and hopeful to my eyes.

I totally agree that SB19's presence is something else. They are so charming, confident, independent and really handsome. Most of these pop groups are just good looking but no substance. Some Filipinos are used to colonialism so anything outside their country they think are better than them. SB19 can outperform many of these idols. So glad you got to see them. Chachii, you are a bright light in this world, and I feel honored to know you as a reactor (even though it’s through watching your videos). Back in 2020, I was very depressed, and decided to look up on TH-cam music from the land of my parents. I had no idea what this would get me into, and discovered SB19 in October of that year, and that was it! Down the rabbit hole I went. I have never regretted it, even though my family thought I was crazy at first-I’m a grandma with 11 grandkids! I live near Washington DC, but I have seen them in concert in NY and LA, and on the Wish Bus and busking on Hollywood Boulevard! Who says you’re ever too old for anything? Also, I am sick 5 days as well in bed. I hope you take care of yourself and get the rest you need to be able to celebrate Christmas. I love you so much❤️

The first time I saw them perform live, I was speechless too. I would come back to consciousness and scream but zone out on the thought that they are Live LIVE and I got to watch them.
