Mel Gibson talks with Jimmy Carter 1993

The Man Without a Face is a 1993 American drama film starring and directed by Mel Gibson, in his directorial debut. The film is based on Isabelle Holland's 1972 novel of the same name. Gibson's direction received positive reviews from most critics.

Our company worked with Icon Productions on this film. Filmed most in Camden, Maine area. I don't know why Mel went all the way to Bar Harbor, Maine for this interview. This was miles away from our filming locations. He was staying in Rockland when we picked him up

I saw his 1987 interview and 6 years later, he had almost completely lost his Australian accent that he acquired living there as a young boy.

Its interesting, in his SNL monologue in 1989, his accent was 80% Australian and 20% American, by this time is 70% American, 30% Australian. You can hear it bleeding through still. Even a few whole sentences.
