I just happen to had some frozen blueberries, so I gave this recipe a go and what a surprise it turned out to be... Delicious! I would definitely be making this again.
Very nice recipe, I love cobblers. But I would reduce the sugar in the blueberries to half a cup. You can hardly see the blueberries in that much sugar, and they are supposed to be the star of the recipe. There is also sugar on top, that's enough. You should be able to taste the tartness of the blueberries as it is their natural flavour.
Depebds on how sweet your blzeberries are(they tend to be quite a bit sweeter than many other berries) and how much sugar you add. I personally would maybe add a few tablespoons of sugar, just to enhance the flavour, as I almost only like fruit when it is a bit tarte. But it is your choice. Just be careful with sugar, a little goes a long way and rather add more into the topping.
SmilyLily1996 thanks. U know the problem with berries(any kind) is that they even if u add sugar it tastes tart, unless using tinned fruits of course. I avoid using fresh fruits that r tart ,even though I do like the flavour! ! or else leave the whole thing coz of tartness!!
***** it does!! Trust me I really does.coz I have baked a number of times using different berries (fresh),&even though mixed with a certain amount of sugar they still taste tart, so finally now I actually feel sceptical about using them in baking-cakes/cobbler's. ./pies!! Any fruit that's tart does taste tart! ! Even though I like the flavour I don't know what to do about the tartness!!
I couldn't eat any fruit if it all was just plain sweet. I love any fruit most when it is tarte. Not sour like biting into a lemon, but tarte. And especially bleuberries lose all their yumminess if you add too much sweetness(which is why I cannot eat most bought blueberry things) But you just have to see for yourself how you like it. To cut down on tarteness, you can add additional sweetener or some kind of cream or something, which will cut down any strong flavour. Just add maybe between a few tablespoons and a just sip of plain heavy cream or maybe canned coconut milk, if you like. It will change the fruit part a bit, but it will make it sweeter and less tarte/sour-y.
Sounds like you might want to check your oven temperature to make sure it's heating to the right temperature, sushiixx. If it's not hot enough, the cobbler will take longer to bake. Hope it tasted good though!
I used baking soda to bake it and for some reason the topping turned green in some places. Does anyone know what caused this? im going to guess the baking soda but idk much.
It makes more sense to start with the topping since it is set aside for 10-15 minutes. While it's rising, do the filling.
Best cobbler recipe on the internet
Best ever!!! Just made it and it is Amazing!!! I love your channel!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤
Yummy!!!
I made it, and it was delicious. My wife loved it and my neighbors did too! definitely going to make again
My topping didn't come out right. Did yours rise like it did in the video?
Your typing should rise if the steps are followed, how long did you give it to rise in the bowl?
about 15 min. and it did end up rising, it just didn't look like it was. thanks anyway.
+blossom 22 Yum! I would also recommend making it with a crumble style topping, like you see on many other cobbler recipes. Happy baking!
I literally just noticed two people saying they wanted to use different fruit... WELL, it wouldn't be a *blueberry* cobbler would it then?

Great!
If i want to store it, do i refridgerate it?
Hi, iNeedRice - You could store the cobbler at room temperature for a day or overnight, but any longer than this and we recommend refrigerating it.
can i use another fruits if theres no available blueberry?
