    Amen to your cancel culture comment.. it's BS to the highest power! Your so right about something so simple as changing your hairstyle or hair color can change your mood or your outlook. And by the way it looks absolutely gorgeous! I really love these kind of videos You give us a lesson in going forward with our future but also following you on the day-to-day average shopping cooking cleaning etc that we all do let's just relate to you so much You're awesome Kelly keep it coming

    Hi Kelly, I do enjoy your videos but the title of your videos do not inspire a lot of positivity. It’s kind of like don’t leave home but obviously there is a reason why you choose to live in Japan. I think it would make more sense to share more about life under Covid in Japan no what the Japanese think and their take on this serious predicament.

    I completely agree with you, cancel culture is extremely toxic and just unnecessary. People learn and grow throughout life and stuff from the past being brought up shouldn't define them and it's so sad that our society enables it :( On a happy note! dark hair really suits you, new year new you! :D also, loving your podcast!

    Most of us want to see something that we can relate to or feel comfortable watching, since is full of TH-camrs that don't really have that level of transparency when it comes to on screen and how actual life is, yes I admit that this type of content is chilling and more immersing to see how the reality works and to understand the fact that life has also rain not forever sun (well, there's always sun even if is cloudy, no, not with a chance of meatballs 😀(it's an animation) ) ,anyway it's good to see the real thing without special effects and make ups 😊

    • @KellyMorita
      @KellyMorita  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I’m referring to the toxicity of this generation. I’m lucky to grow up in the 90s!! It’s hard to watch news on TH-cam seeing the titles for who is canceled and who is not. It’s so sad to see, don’t you agree?

    • @AliceinJapanaland
      @AliceinJapanaland 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@KellyMorita I do - unfortunately this gen. didn't have the luxury we had of growing up without social media so they don't really know better I think until it comes for them or their personal online heroes. So it seems like cancel culture is a sad and even dangerous byproduct of social media itself. Meant to connect us but at the cost of dehumanizing us ☹️

    What surprised me most about the first of several (too brief) times that I lived in a tiny studio while I studied in Tokyo were those moments when I'd become quite unaware of where I was. It was as if both Canada and Japan were no longer identifiers of anything significant. Rather, I was home. Just home.

      The circumstances of our lives, especially when they seem stressful or intense, do have an impact on us, for sure. However, all too often, we give away our power to these circumstances and situations. We act as though it's a foregone conclusion that we will feel a certain way, based on specific circumstances like the economy, the weather, our health, our level of activity, the state of our romantic relationship (as someone who has been in an abusive relationship) or lack thereof, the behavior of our children, our families, the state of our career or business or our environment at work.
      Our experience of life (grateful, worried, peaceful, angry, excited, sad, alive, depressed, joyous or anything else) is much more of a reflection of us and what's going on within us, not a reaction to what's going on around us. We've all had many times in our lives when things were going great on the surface or we accomplished or experienced some wonderful external success, only to feel a sense of disappointment or sadness underneath because whatever it was didn't satisfy us at a deep level. And, on the flip side, most of us have had moments of incredible joy, excitement and bliss that weren't directly connected to anything worthy of these feelings externally.

      What ever you believe will change WILL change. But you have to actually believe it not have any ounce of doubt. That’s how I moved to Japan. I said to myself “this is it. This is my only option. It HAS to happen” manifestation at its finest.
