I was in SriLanka in Feb 2019. Amazing memories of Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle, Colombo. Also I Visited the Adam’s Peak, Sigriya Fort as well as covered Yala Jungle Safari. The local people were very helpful. I still recall our tour guide Mr Nilanjan, what a gem of a person he was. Hope he and his family are safe out there.

I as an Indian stayed in SriLanka for almost 3 years (2019-2021), it’s a beautiful country, specially the common mass, they all are so helpful! It’s sad to see they all are facing such a hardship! Still have lots of friends over there! Hope they will soon recover from all this hardship! Btw when I was there petrol and diesel were much cheaper than India back then ! A litre of petrol back cost only 65Rs Indian Rupees when it was almost 90Rs in our India! It’s sad to see all has changed !

Absolutely. I live in a society with 100 houses. There are many lanes and my house is on the major lane which is connected to the other lanes. Whenever any vehicle pass by our house they honk without any reason. day night honking is the reason i cant sleep. Over speeding is the other issue. Noise pollution is also major issue of India but nobody talk about it.

Sri Lankans are some of the nicest I have met in a foreign country. I had worked with them in West Asia also. Had a holiday there in 1996. Planned a trip in April this year. Postponed it now due to political n economic crisis there. Hope to still go in early 2023. Can anybody tell me what the real situation there is now. I visited Srilanka in 2020. Colombo doesn't have much flyovers. Therefore, Traffic is severe. Galle Road is the most beautiful road in Colombo with lot of new buildings & Trees. He is in Galle road Indian Guys, prefer Railway. it is faster & cheaper.

At 18:42, you showed rates of groceries. Even after so much inflation, Tomato is still Srilanka Rupees 29 while Potato is 53. Imagine how cheap it was before this crisis. Just today in India where I live, price of 1kg tomato is INR 30 and Potato is INR 40 and this is without in crisis.

Tomato price was 29 Sri Lankan Rupees for 100g (6.3 INR on 1st August)
So, 6.3 x 10 = 63 Indian Rupees for 1Kg
Potato price was 53 Sri Lankan Rupees for 100g (11.68 INR on 1st August)
So, 11.68 x 10 = 116.8 Indian Rupees for 1Kg Potatoes.

I visited Srilanka in 2020. Colombo doesn't have much flyovers. Therefore, Traffic is severe.
