I love that section along with Signature Rock.

Should I post the bit we shot on Register Cliff? We couldn't tell where the pioneer graffiti was. It looked like 1935 and up.

@@QuietPlaceswithMarshall yes, it is fascinating! I remember going to it when all it had was a loose chain link fence close to it. Can’t wait to see it now. I haven’t been there for several years. In fact the last time we went to the ruts they were blocked off and you couldn’t walk on them. After watching your video I’m going to go back soon! (I live in Lakewood.) Thanks for your video! Barb

@@bmk5529 Barb, there is still only a chain link fence there. We have Fort Laramie to post too, but it all requires editing time. Just finished my 100th video for the motorcycle channel. That vid goes live at 7.

@@QuietPlaceswithMarshall I have no idea how much time it takes to edit but I’ve heard it is tiresome and takes way a lot of time. 😃

@@bmk5529 Figure 3 hours for every 10 minute video, because you watch it over and over trying to cut more out to keep it interesting, fact checking what you said.

You know if the Oregon Trail was still active today it would probably be a toll road. Love the map showing the location.

All my people came from Scotland, went up the Cape Fear River until the paddling got tough and never went any further West to this very day. Why you might ask? Because they knew how to make liquor and it was a great place to grow corn and sorghum.

Some of the ruts remind me of Malta ruts

I'm sure you probably know that the spacing of wagon wheels is the same as the normal width railroad tracks?

i have seen video's about the Oregon Trail, that section, you said it goes for half a mile. What happened to the rest of the trail. did they actually pave over, wiped it out foe a golf course, private owned land? there is another part where people made their mark, or name on a big rock, but other people have defaced it over the years. just watched a vid on the Bozeman trail, pretty interesting. toe jam? yeah, bad name for such a cutie.

I think you answered what happened to the Oregon Trail. Some private property, some of it under I-80. I have video of Register Cliff too, just haven't produced it yet. Not sure if I'm going to, as I can't seem to find any name on it that hasn't been written over by somebody in this century.
