i’m here because out of habit from other wigs i took the elastic bands that are always on new wigs off of my monika wig (she already comes with an attachable ponytail) and i realised there was a reason there was two elastic bands and a thick wire you could only slip off after the elastic bands
i don't kinda get how the ponytail stays in place. when i style a ponytail on my wighead and remove the wig to put it on my real head, the tail gets all loose and doesn't look good anymore. i have to do the ponytail when the wig is on my head. but i can't really style it this way
I styled myself a ponytail wig out of a regular long blonde wig, but while wearing it to the convention it turned out to be waayyy to heavy and either my bangs would slip back or you would see the hair at my scalp... Im gonna restyle it but are there any tips for this not happening again? It was a more higher ponytail btw
I never wear a wig without, at minimum, my wig cap pinned at each side keeping my natural hair put away & then the wig itself with 2 Bobby pins at each side burn. A lot of times I wear the wigs half up and use Bobby pins to smooth out the top and I make sure they go through the bottom cap into my wig cap & they help keep everything in place even more.
Do you have any tips if you want to style a wig in a low ponytail or loose ponytail (like Vanessa from fnaf or applejack from mlp. Ik those are kind of childish examples but it’s the only characters with hair like that I can think of off the top of my head)
Ok so let me try to explain this to the best of my ability. I have a shoulder length wig, and two little hair pieces that are supposed to be like buns with cloth on them. But the bad thing is that I have to somehow make the wig look like the hair is in two buns. And the rest of the hair can't show, it has to literally look like the hair is inside those two little things when really those little things are already stuffed and you can't put hair inside them.
ik its late, but,in my opinion, that's not possible without destuffing the buns or cutting the hair (which i dont recommend.) maybe not using the bun pieces at all? like style it with two side ponytails, put them into buns, secure with bobbypins, and use a piece of cloth to wrap the bun using an elastic or a ribbon. would be nice if u link the wig ur using. i hope that helps!

Hey I know it’s been three months but try using hairspray to keep the ponytail in place. That’s what I’m doing with mine

You can pin it down with bobby or hairpins or you can use some not2bglued gel around the perimenter. Theyre plenty of tutorials using it to help!
