What a joy to Steve Hickman after likely 40 years. I never did learn to play the fiddle, but this year I have returned to music and am.learning the ukulele.
Music cuts across all ages. It is so cool to watch Corie and Katie form lasting relationships with musicians who've been around the block a few times. Most impressive is to see how they value those friendships and appreciate the opportunity to learn from each other. Great job, Corie and Katie! I'm gonna follow the link to Hambone now....
Never heard of this one and I've been around fiddlers for decades. I play mandolin, so this is a sweet, must learn one for me. Another in the key of G. I like these great tunes and just too many to learn in such a short time above ground. There many not be such great tunes like this in Heaven, so that's why we play 'em here.
@@thepressleygirls I've got a version in a book. Then I heard Norman Blake's take. It's a bit different and I think the best, so spent a relaxing after noon (9/21) trying to work up his version. Got the A part pretty well. Now on to the B half. I'm glad it's in G -- lots of possibilities in that scale, but need to slow it down and listen and get the timing just right.
