郑伟杰 may not be the best vocalist, but you can clearly see his musicality and style. In today's music world, you can't survive with just a big voice. I actually really like 郑伟杰 because he puts his own spin and his artistry shines. There is something about his voice... so soothing and captivating.
Can't stop listening to all of Nigel's renditions! It sounds much better on headphones, there are so much going on in the background that makes it wonderful. This was a gutsy move in a competition though, everybody knows how bitter a song is 忘情水, and he sang it in a laid-back smiley way, like Harlem said, it's the aftermath of a heartbreak :) He certainly has the confidence to take on all the 'classics' from Faye Wong to Jackie Cheung. Any rendition/cover of songs by these singers will inevitably be subjected to harsh judgments, not to mention the golden oldies that people know by heart. Glad that he did not turn them into another karaoke sing-a-long or flamboyant showcase of skills, but a solid fresh reboot with subtances. His soulful and positives vibes are admirale too.
This RnB rendition is lit!! I love the original song, but this is other thing! You can't compare music from different genres, however. Hope the best for Nigel, I think he's not the type that will win the competition, but I enjoy hearing him sing. I hope he have an amazing career ahead as a Chinese RnB singer 😊😊
I haven't heard the original song so it hasn't influenced my opinion of this rendition of it. I actually enjoy this version a lot. I think a lot of people are unwilling to accept this arrangement of the song because they feel that it's ruined a classic. Music is constantly evolving, from rock to hip-hop to EDM and so forth. Musicians constantly experiment with different styles, not only to produce records for their fans, but because it's their way of life. They enjoy taking what exists and adding their own little twists to it. If they never decided to change it up, then we would not have all these genres that we can enjoy today. As fans, we'll have our own biases as to what we like or don't like listening. However, we should learn to embrace and respect different styles of music, because like music, we too, can change.

一直不断听这首歌，越听越好听，特别喜欢中间女声和音的部分和歌手摇摆的感觉。
很喜歡Nigel獨特的編唱，今天這首忘情水如果加強咬字和唱穩些就會很好。偉杰可能不是比賽型的唱將，但他做的音樂我會想聽！!！
而且他一直笑嘻嘻的很討喜！

如果要聽原曲，聽原唱就好啦。。。這編曲好高檔很耐聽。。。會不停地repeat 聽。。。哈哈😄很class....
其實就有一種莫名其妙的感覺，並不覺得很順耳，可是就有種衝動想繼續聽，然後又莫名奇妙的顫抖，有種很特別的感覺和感染力。
和你有同样说不上来的感觉，不想承认自己喜欢这种调调，可比起温吞平和的歌曲，却反而不会觉得枯燥，能往下听

我也是~第一次聽的時候覺得編曲很尷尬，但是那旋律就一直一直在腦海裡面縈繞，最後默默地又循環聽了好幾次，覺得還蠻耐聽的。就像前面有些評論說的，這種改編真的很高級，不是一般大眾所能接受的。
