    how long should you wait before gluing the rubbers after sealing

      Thanks for asking. At least 30 minutes. We use table tennis configured sealers and they dry pretty quickly.

    A question came to my mind! Can we apply a voc glue to the wood side and voc-free to the sponge side? Would that work? Since I use a butterfly rubber wich recommend the water base glue , the same time voc glue wouldn't ruin the blade!

    Are GEWO blades presealed? I have ordered a Gewo In-Force PBO-PC OFF

    What about the handle? Some put 502/ superglue on the handle and edge, sand and then toothpaste for polish. Thoughts?

      dont do that you can seal all of the blad with seal products for table tennis. The problem is it didnt absorb water anymore. If you have wet hands it could by slippery. The handle is intendet to soak up ur hand sweat.

      Cool, but correct. Varnish hardens the wood! Will make it more slippery in the hand when it gets wet with sweat.

      I use candle wax for the handle. Take a white unscented candle and lightly rub it on the handle like a crayon.
      Then take a lighter and melt it. Quickly take a cloth and smear the liquid wax into the wood. Be careful it is hot.
      By now it will have wet "water-like" marks on it. Take a light sandpaper and lightly sand off the top wax layer and the color will revert back to normal. Add one more super light layer of wax on it if desired (or if not, skip this step).
      The wax is now in the wood pores and will not absorb grime.

    why do you wipe away the excess with a paper towel?

    hi, just curious to know, why don't players use normal wood sealer cheap ones from any hardware store?

      I´m sure there has to be one of the cheapo sealers that´s good, maybe a chemist can point us in the right direction, it seems that most regular sealers screw up the ability of the rubbers to hold on to the blades because the glues used nowadays are water based.

      Table Tennis Varnish is Very Light. Most Blades are Varnished anyway, so you are making no or very little change. For the less expensive blades that arent' varnished well or not at all, it will stiffen up the blade ever so slightly.

    What kind of varnish did you use? Polyurethane?

    • @tabletennisstore9909
      @tabletennisstore9909  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We use GEWO Clean Stick or JOOLA varnish. I don't think it is polyurethane. It is very light and soaks into the wood.

      Then we wipe away the excess. Which is important.

    Should I re-seal my blade every time that I change the rubber?

    • @tabletennisstore9909
      @tabletennisstore9909  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, we recommend that. One light coat. wipe it try with paper towel This process will allow the varnish to soak into the very top layer or the wood and harden it ever so slightly.

      Yes, we recommend that. The sealer will soak into the wood where it is needed. YOu can wipe the excesses with a paper towel.
