    In Germany this train are drive on the New High Speed Track Munich-Berlin. So The travel time between Munich and Berlin is only 4 1/2 hours and between Frankfurt and Colonge 1 1/2 hours. In addition, this train for Germany is equipped with a multi-system electricity transformer, so that this train also runs from Frankfurt to Brussels, Amsterdam and Paris. The service on this train is amazing especially if you compare it to the “first class” offered by Deutsche Bahn (ICE)

    • @Canleaf08
      @Canleaf08 3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      At the Deutsche Bahn you only get a biscuit "Lieblingsgast" if you sit in the Erste Klasse and behaved well. Years ago, they even served Duplo Chocolate. Ok they still have at seat service for pay, but it is not comparable, often only a bag of chips. Seat back entertainment used to be 20 years ago in the erste Klasse with only two channels: "Bahn TV" and ntv (damn. Even a domestic westjet flight has more on offer with live TV for every seat back TV!)
      Other points: TL;DR: No lounge for certain tickets in the erste Klasse, Expiring points. Bahncards with different flavours. Upgrade is a courtesy, proposed fixes to the programmes and missing portential .
      DB Lounge access is not even included with some first class tickets, saver and super saver fares are illegible. Or you have traveled so much, that you have over 2k points at BahnBonus to be in the BahnComfort programme. It is a different quality... BahnBonus points are also only good for 1.5 years or you will loose them one by one. So, the programm rather demerit you than benefit you... Then there are BahnCards, a yearly subscription service, you can "buy" a 25 %, a 50 % or a 100 % rabate card for every train journey, for each of the two classes. It is not like this that the 2nd class BahnCard is good for both classes. NO. It isn't, you can only get rebate for either of the classes. And then you can't simply upgrade your travel class, the Bahn offers you the upgrade....
      Politics in Germany talk about "make driving or flights more expensive that people choose the Bahn". What they forget is that the Bahn should update their loyality programmes, that the points and statuses are staying there for longer. The quality is not always the best one. The Bahn is often too expensive. The BahnCards are only for those who travel a lot...
      This railway company has a lot of potential, it could do more for the customers, but it is still a state owned corporation... It used to be more for it's customers. The punctuality. The reliability of the product. So much to improve. Better schedules. Better connections, better interoperability.

      Difference is Russian trains have three classes - 1st, 2nd and 3rd. In Western Europe, the 1st class is equivalent to 2nd and 2nd class is equivalent to 3rd. This is comparable to “Executive Class” on Italy’s Frecciarossa for example.

    I've used the Sapsan in February on a return business trip from Moscow to St Pete's and back. It was incredible, just snow all the way up to St Pete's and back. When I arrived back in Moscow, I was picked up by my driver in an S Class rwd Merc in the middle of a snow storm and he politely told me it's ok, don't worry, he will drive me safely back to the hotel , he said the=at he was still alive at the moment .............aaahhhhhh :-)

    Awesome train and service second to none....I travelled in economy plus Moscow to SP and back and even in economy + you get one meal service to the seat, like a wrapped bag with sandwich, chocolate etc and you get tea and coffee trolley and extra snacks trolley if you want to buy. Service was polished, smart and the train itself is just superb. Next time will give first class a crack as your review of it looks spot on.

The replacement has done about 10 trips thus far and it's like brand new.

She made it, even took part in some overnight trip to Siberian wilderness with a guy, she was staying in via couch surfing. He was into country skiing and asked her if she has ever done it and she said yes, because she thought he was talking about regular skiing. It was quite dangerous, because she was an amateur in a wilderness and the days were short in a winter. Brave from her and the guy who she was with. I wouldn't want to be responsible for her, if I was him.
