On October 31st, 2011 Metropolitan Opera star Marcello Giordani hosted a fundraising gala and concert with the Marcello Giordani Foundation, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to assist and support promising young opera singers. The foundation, founded by Giordani, was created to encourage and enable talented young singers from around the world to pursue and achieve their career goals and transition onto the professional opera stage. The concert and reception took place on October 31st, 2011, at the Merkin Concert Hall in Manhattan.

Under the guidance of Marcello Giordani, the Foundation establishes, organizes and sponsors master classes, seminars, and summer programs in the U.S. and abroad, as well as provides encouragement, training opportunities, career assistance and financial support, including scholarships and awards to promising and talented young singers. Many of them will be the great singers of tomorrow, and it is with them that the future of opera resides. It is the goal of the Foundation to contribute actively to their success.

Bravo both!!!, Marcello Giordani has that big squilling voice that really amazed me when first saw him at the MET with Renee Fleming in 2002 season; Zacary Nelson has a beautiful full sound baritone voice. Great combination of very talented singers for a wonderful duet...BRAVOOOO!!!!!!!!

Tenor, adequate. Baritone overshadows him. His sound is not unlike Merrills. Classy.
