Totally agree my husband worries about the bullying that our child might encounter. We've met a middle ground that we'll encourage his other interest first but if he still wants to do ballet like the purple wiggle then he can join the all boy ballet class that the studio has a very strict no bullying policy. We'll see what he chooses to do.
These kids are darling and my littlest son enjoyed watching them today to see what to expect in his classes this fall. They are good role models to the even younger kids- thanks parents!!
I don’t really understand the nasty comments. Ballet teaches strength and balance which can be applied to any other sport. Doesn’t have any influence on preference. Look at barishnokov
No, my son wont' try b/c we only have girls in our classes in our town...he needs something like this to try it out in a "safe" environment! Really....to get him to the point where he's confident enough to join with the girls, this is a must!
I'm in the same position...all ballet classes in my area are 100% girls and they are all pink, singing songs about being a fairy princess and sometimes teachers dress as Disney princesses too...could not be more excluding.
@@shimmer4771 lol then you have no idea how tae kwon do works either. It's about grace and avoiding that kind of thinking. who do you think they give principal male lead roles to in ballet? girls?
@@Treemeadow Ballet still seems girlish. Like my mom said, the men who do it wear tights and they're movements they do seem to feminine. Not tough, like football, which is a contact sport. If my daughter wants to be in football, she's getting a stern lecture.
If girls can wrestle and go into boxing, what's wrong with boys enjoying ballet? They're little kids, who cares? As long as they're having fun, it's great. Kids like what they like, it's only society that later makes them believe these completely neutral activities are for boys or girls only. This is interest in its purest form, unaltered by society's dumb rules. Let them dance, wrestle, whatever. Just be happy. (I don't associate with liberals or conservatives. Guns are a right and children should be taught gun safety from an early age. Also, boys can do ballet and girls can wrestle. Woah! Mind...blown)
For those making homophobic comments on these little gents .... go find a hole and please stay away from children. Children play and learn what THEY see SO PLEASE STOP THE BASHING! ! If this was an ALL girls footballers class what would you say then? Shame on you!
There are mixed classes, but there tend to be far more girls because, y'know, society is dumb. That can cause teasing. In addition, boys often have to prepare for ballet differently because there are different common adamce roles expected due to how hormones can affect things like turns vs leaps etc. Obviously, the roles are interchangeable, it just tends to be harder.
How so? And who cares? I have 5 kids and maybe one of them actually wants to be a parent someday, but I plan to volunteer as a court appointed special advocate when they are grown to get my fill of kids if I still want to be around them. Grow up and make your own plans and don’t demand your kids do things because you are mentally lazy.
I would definitely let my son do ballet if he wants to, nothing wrong with it at all

you are so selfish. why would you do this to your son? making him live out your desires? dance moms are the worst.
This is actually awesome being a dude dancer is emotionally straining
So beautiful! Self-esteem building from the get GO. Love it! Thank you!
Exactly!

Super cute!
Why do people think ballet is girls only? Like, clearly they've never seen any ballet.
If I have kids and my son ever wants to be in ballet, he will have to do 12 exercises and take tae quan doe! Ain't raising no sissy.

It might make them feminine. Girls should act girly, too.

I think the boy's n girl's together woulb be a. better world no discrimination much more fun boy meets girl n fall in love
Main problem is girls will just be dominant and that can be intimidating. Its the same reason there are all girls sport and fitness classes

I agree if there was an even balance! Most classes have maybe one boy and 13 girls.
unfotunality in my country (Mexico) If boys do this everybady say than only girls do that.
Yes, it's very sad.
Luis Juarez Cervantes , I agree very sad people forget to allow kids to be kids. Regardless of where they live.

I know, it's very sad whichever country you're from. It's worse in Mexico.
