Adding Gonzaga to the PAC12 now makes the media hype up and ready to offer a nice deal for the pac12. This will also entice Memphis to rethink & the pac12 will have more money to make a new offer to Memphis & Tulane.

Dude you nailed it perfectly. As a Pac12 fan, i was disappointed Memphis turned the offer down, or didnt counter offer. Gonzaga vs Memphis guaranteed sell out game for both schools in basketball.
You know what a good neighborhood is? A conference in which 8 different schools have won national championships in basketball with 4 of those schools winning multiple titles. 15 of the 18 schools have been to the Final Four at least once. That's a good neighborhood. I think Memphis may still be holding out for that one.

In what dream are you imagining Memphis is joining such a conference? You do realize when the ACC collapses UNC, Virginia, Duke, and Syracuse are not sticking around......
At the absolute best case scenario your competition is Pitt, NC State, Wake Forest and Louisville.
You do realize that you're not talking about something that is absolutely going to happen. Nobody knows if the ACC will or will not break apart, become a smaller less valuable league, merge with the Big 12 or a dozen other scenarios that have been thrown about. If I had a dollar for every "done deal" idea that didn't come to pass I'd be playing Monopoly with Bill Gates, Elon Musk, and Jeff Bezos with real money. Listening to some of these people you'd think the Big 12 will end up with 34 teams.

I think the PAC-12 needs Memphis more than vice versa, only because they need 9 schools and UNLV already turned it down. PAC 12 still doesn’t have a media deal and Memphis is the only “brand” left
The pac 12 football is impressive for sure but holy shit the basketball conference is top3 in the country
Split the difference and make it 10 million and memphis pays the rest.

pac needs to stop being cheap and pay @memphis's exit fee
It’s not so much being cheap. It’s more “blew the wad getting the MWC schools” so the Pac needs to get the lawsuit settled at half the poaching fee in order to get Memphis.
But I still wonder if this pencils out for Memphis.

@@Kakasenpi Which just so happens to coincidently be essentially the same cost to buy out 2 AAC teams....... the poaching fee is $55 million. The AAC Buyout fee is $27.5M per team.
DO THE MATH......
They got $250 million taking over the PAC12 rights ontop of the $100 million original contracted deal rights. Theyre not strapped for cash, but they dont want to ull into the savings, when they just literally reappropriate the poaching fee to buy the 2 good teams from the AAC.
