    Does anybody know what these lineage bike weigh? I have a 2009 haro freestyler that weighs 29 pounds. I was wondering if these weight 2 pounds less

    Now that the 2018 is coming out in March! How much are you selling the 2017 for now? I'm going to get one but I'm sticking with the 17 because I want the yellow instead of the blue.

    'Ey - anyone remember the Competition 3's, then, later... those Ultra cool Comp 4 (IV) tires, the latter had a V-Shape to them, so that turning even a sharp corner just required a slight turn-of-the-wrist? --- Where can I get Comp IV's to put on these? (if even possible?). Thanks ----

    • @alansbmx
      @alansbmx  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Comp III is available to this day in skinwall with tioga making them the same as they did back in the day. But again a shortage of supply at the moment means stock is slim. Comp IVs you would need to try find yourself on eBay as we cannot get them. Although the Haro HPF tyres these come with are great modern remake and are super high quality.

    Vintage ones are "made to be ridden" as well, and I have been riding the same ones from 1987-88 until now with no issues. I don't like those big, clunky, heavy cloth seats today I prefer the old Dominator still as it is more durable and easier to stand on, not slippery and will not rip doing seat grinders. So not sure why anyone decided to change the seats to a cloth one. the only advantage would be they are more comfortable to sit on for long rides. But if I am freestylin' I do not sit long anyway. I also prefer a bigger sprocket for more power and riding around. So I will built this one in the vintage model. The only downside to the vintages are the built in frame-standers but only if you do upside tricks and have short pegs. But I would not mind having both versions but I am good with vintage as that is what I always had and I am used to. Vintage bikes are very tough they are not glass. I jumped mine off loading docks and rode vert as well and never broke it. But I mostly now stick to old school flatland and bay my bike but it always holds up regardless.

    I have a 88 master coral in color....i can tell that those frames are shorter.

    • @alansbmx
      @alansbmx  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      These are longer modern bikes, if your bike is an original 88 master it would be roughly 2-3 inchs shorter in toptube length, but longer in the rear.

    Some kids keep asking why these are so expensive - Since 30+ years ago the cost has at LEAST Doubled for such Quality bro... ***** - TRUST me they're well worth it. *I'm an old-school Freestyler from YEARS before the Original Freestyln' Magazine even came out.
    ***SO, I am a Serious Inquiry $$$ - nearly ready to purchase here any day now, did I hear you correctly that you'll take the original rims and switch them for SKYWAYS? (cool)… And, by the way, whatever happened to those SKYWAY SIX spoke Mag wheels from 1988-1989? - Could you switch those also (?) or are they now (ultra rare) totally unavailable? - For freestyle, I hate the Five spoke SKYWAYS...… Remember they (Skyway) had a SIX model? I had them in purple on a SKYWAY Streetbeat when those frames first hit the market for about $170.00. - and ONLY came in White (mine) or Orange or Green....
    -------- *** Thank you, R.A.D. (and those are my actual initials, not just saying, rad). :)

    • @alansbmx
      @alansbmx  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Heyo, Yes we will swap the wheels for skyways BUT there is currently a shortage of skyway wheels in the UK, might be best to call us and double check although the option is online on alansbmx.com. And unfortunately only the 24 inch skyways are 6 spoke, all others are 5 spoke mag wheels from skyway.

  • @GILLETE32

    Nice bikes,but ridiculous expensive.No even the original ones were that expensive.I own two haro fsx (yellow & gray) that I plan to restore soon ,and both of them together won't even come close to the price of the new ones..I'm just being realistic.

    • @allsystemsdownagain9553
      @allsystemsdownagain9553 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      GILLETE32 yeah I know but people restoring the original haro masters are asking for more than this. I'd go with these to be honest.

    • @Clint_the_Audio-Photo_Guy
      @Clint_the_Audio-Photo_Guy 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The original one's were made in 1987 and money today is worth a lot less of what it was then. Seeing as these were around $400 then, and this is a far better bike, I'd say you're actually getting a deal at $1200. I ran it through an inflation calculator and $400 cost in 1987 is $865 now, but the 1987 bike was a lot cheaper build than this one with investment cast dropouts, heavy duty axles, sealed cartridge bearings, machined aluminum gyro, clearcoat over graphics, great paint/chrome, cranks and wheels etc. I built up a bespoke BMX bike in 1994 and it ran me $1500 total, choosing all the best parts at the time. This is a better bike than that was, with all the new tech and for less money. I see the value myself.

      I just bought both of these for 1500 cash. They were up for 1200 ea at Guys Bikes then went down to 950 ea. I talked the Manager down. They are Bad Ass. I put the original Seats on them.

      @@Clint_the_Audio-Photo_Guy they were more than 400 flat in 87.......try more like 470 and team models were around a grand if u wanted super pro 48s and peregrine 3 peice vrank. the 470 only got u the flat dull peregrine 48s w 1 peice crank. but the polishished Nippon calipers w that 990 sitting on the bottom looked way better than what these short frames come with. the new ones dont look near as nice. I still have a 88 master
