Me too! The shorter has been so great and I’ve worn it so much since this cut and since the hair is shorter it doesn’t get as much friction damage which has been awesome.

I’ll have to try and record the process in the future. For the time being I’d suggest buying some mannequin hair cutting scissors/shears from a beauty supply or online and watching some basic hair cutting tutorials on here (TH-cam). The hair doesn’t need to be wet with a synthetic wig like human hair. But you do want to section the hair and cut it in sections since the synthetic fibers are so thick.

Oh my goodness ! So does this happen a lot? Is it better to wear short wigs than longer ones? Like how long did it take for this one to get like that? I we would hate to buy a wig that's not going to last. I'm very new to them and I don't know much. Actually I'm gonna say I'm not experienced at all. Lol! ☺
I saw you on IG and wondered what was happening.

Yes, this happens with synthetic wigs over time. Even shorter synthetic wigs can experience friction damage. When it happens you can sometime use a steamer to restore them close to their former glory. The only way to really get a synthetic to last is to rotate it with other wigs. I wore this wig probably 40-45 times before it reached the point of where I thought I should cut it. Since wigs cost a couple hundred $$$ and up it’s a good idea to find a second or third piece you can alternate with to stretch their life. I’ve bought gently used second hand, shop clearance, etc. whatever I could find that wouldn’t break the bank. This style is usually on sale for $110. That’s a good price and it’s been a great wig.
