I do, love challenges but need to work on my swimming which I already started on. I give it a year to have full confidence in doing long distance swimming.
@@gtn w00h00... Thanks. It's nice to get tips and tricks, but also seeing how real folks do in real events and seeing everybody huffing, puffing, matches my real life experiences than anything that is polished up for the masses. 😁👍
I love the idea behind this swimrun. It is really seeing opportunity where there apparently is none. And Heather: Well done coping with the cold water (although it was fun seeing an olympian having the most granny-like swim style of all 😂)
I love how diverse this event is. I started running at 145 kilos, and I always thought that most runners look fit AF and are in their late 20s. Now I’m down 25kg and on my running journey I’ve encountered so many different runners! It’s awesome. If I had known that earlier, who knows…
I enjoyed watching this video and your unique journey through London. I admire your positive attitude even when you were clearly very cold. GTN always brings the entertaining videos.
Well done Heather. That was one of the most entertaining vids I’ve seen on GTN; you reacting to the cold was hilarious and hats off for completing it. 👏👏
Great Job Heather. You made me smile. You are such a trooper. Reminds me of what is coming up in April when the ice comes off the lake and water is 38 degrees Fahrenheit. Mind you I will have a wet suit on my face and hands do get a bit chilly. I think gloves this coming year cause the booties help. Nice event. I wish they would have one like that where I live.
That looks like an amazing event, I've only swum in London a couple of times and it's a great novelty. I hope there's plenty of more winter swimming videos to come!
I did an event in Austria 18months ago in May. Came from training in Saudi Arabia at 35deg to a lake swim in 8/9deg water. I can still remember the cold headache when you get in the water. Well done!
Looks like fun, you should come to Japan and swim the Fuji Five Lakes… little more distance, same concept as the race you did up in Scandinavia… nice Onsens to warm up and relax after..💪👍🙏🥂
Kudos to you, Heather, for braving all that cold water! I admire the choice of a woolie hat to swim in; I still wouldn't have been able to do it. Too cold! 🥶
Loved the video - horrendous event! Can fully relate to shivering uncontrollably while watching in utter bewilderment as other people carry on as normal!
Would like to share our new paper now published by the British medical and sports journal on cold water swim advice - Prof Tipton , Dr Morgan, Dr Massey and myself - safety advice with science
Awesome. I’ve done two polar bear plunge events in Oklahoma in 20 degree temps on New Years Day. So painful and yet laughable. Not sure about another one. Yikes.
C'mon dear people, this one was on the verge of reality show style. What's next? Heather bungee jumping? Heather free solo climbing? Heather swim the arctic cycle?
Who fancies trying this one out? 🥶

@@AbiyeKetema the swims are only a few lengths, nothing too taxing, all about the camaraderie and getting those endorphins flowing.
This looks amazing. I love some cold water so this is right up my alley
@@jennyscott2820 got you so maybe I will give it a shot next year.
Looks fantastic we love wild swimming just concerned I can keep up with everyone with the running, how far is the last leg of the run ?
These "Real Life" events on GCN are great. Please keep them coming.
Agreed 100%, really enjoyed this.
More of this style to come 🙌

Even though I am wearing a warm sweater, have a fleece blanket and a hot cup of tea, I still got cold watching this video. Well done Heather!
Hahaha yep, Heather is stiff shivering in the office 🥶

Hahah it was so cold 🥶

That's so great to hear! It's an amazing community. Running really is for all 🙌
I'm shivering just watching this. Well done Heather!
hard as f*** is our heather... good job girl as always
"It's fun, It's all about the fun" ha, yes love this exactly!
Absolutely love this video, hilarious. Well done Heather.
Fancy doing the swim run?
That’s the best fun, I’m smiling just watching you all 💕💜💛
A number of friends have described these London swimming venues. What a fun way to experience them.
Crazy events can be just as challenging as endurance events, for different reasons of course, one of your best videos, enjoyed watching! 🥶🥶
Heather, you absolute star!!! You looked freezing. Well done for finishing!
Your dedication to the channel is admirable- I could NEVER do these freezing water swims that you do!!!
Give it a go! You've got it 💪
Heather, Great job! I know this group was in it as a casual run/swim, but it would be a great run/swim race in an iconic city!
I did this event about two years ago in February, it was so fun!!! I'm inspired to do it again after watching this!
this video was amazing! Enjoyed watching it! :)
That was awesome, great work Heather... Canada loves watching :)

No way was Heather taking her hat off.
So cool 🥶 loved this!
Loved this one 😄especially Heather's cold water facial reactions!

Brilliant film 🎥 great event and Heather is such a trooper 💪
Another one for the bucket list
Wow that's an amazing event, brilliant idea
What a wonderful idea 💕
Heather you are a Hero!
Amazing. Well done legend.

That's crazy! I really don't like running I the cold but I do. That might be tough! Love it!!
That is so cool. Literally! 🥁
Was terrified this was going to involve the Thames! Looks like a blast! Kudos!
Looks like fun, you should come to Japan and swim the Fuji Five Lakes… little more distance, same concept as the race you did up in Scandinavia… nice Onsens to warm up and relax after..💪👍🙏🥂
Well done Heather! I think I will pass this challenge. 😊
Well done, your a star. Next time you can go to Kona and the boys can do the cold Lido’s.
Awesome, enjoyed that video
Kudos to you, Heather, for braving all that cold water! I admire the choice of a woolie hat to swim in; I still wouldn't have been able to do it. Too cold! 🥶
That gave me chills even while watching from my warm kitchen. Reminded me of Escape from Alcatraz tri. No thank you!
It has been 35 degrees celcius here in Brisbane, Australia today, so I am super jealous of all the cold!! (I also had to look up what a lido was.)
Loved this episode
Thanks! It's a fun day out. would you do it ?
Truly weird! Love it 😂
Brrrrr! Kudos to all of you for such a great event!
Massive respect to Heather. One day I hope to do this event
Loved the video - horrendous event! Can fully relate to shivering uncontrollably while watching in utter bewilderment as other people carry on as normal!
Same
This video made me cold!! Good on you!
This was a very creative run!
I used to swim off Portobello in Scotland and putting my face in was the worst. The ice cream face in winter was absolutely brutal. 😂
Living in the tropics makes me wish for the cold weather for running and swimming!
Way to go Heather!
Thank you Heather, I now feel the strong need to do this event 😂😮
10 pts for Heather's pain face!!
Looks great fun

That looks like fun
Very cold and very fun! Fancy giving it a go? 👀
I do have to try this!
We'd love to have you join us.
Will have to do this when I'm back in London from uni.
We'd love to have you join us.
Well done.

Well done Heather
I’m curious about the water temp. My fitness watch does a good job on water temp. Tons of respect to all these people.
This one was about 10-12 I believe, but drops a bit at ever subsequent event til March.
That's fun.
How insane is this thing?!?
Aha! More evidence that heather is just awesome.
We need a swim and bike only event. I hate running
I got cold just watching this
When does this event happen? Sounds fun!
Anyone know what swimming goggles Heather uses?
Well.. now we know what Heather was doing 😂. Was definitely not coaching 😜
C'mon dear people, this one was on the verge of reality show style. What's next? Heather bungee jumping? Heather free solo climbing? Heather swim the arctic cycle?
It's funny 🤣
That was Hardcore! Just how cold was it? Air and Water temperature in C please...🥶
Water around 10-12 on this one I believe.
Nice work Heather, I couldn't think of anything more miserable to do 🥶🥶🥶🥶
What's the toilet situation between locations? Are you wearing the insulated Zoggs suits with the sliver lining?
Not for me. But only because it’s a group thing - I just like to exercise alone !
Heather, what an amazing, cool and beautiful woman you are!
She is a nut! This looks like so much fun
Why dont you try swimming accross the English channel
The outro your lips were almost the same colour as your swimming cap!
Love it! There's a certain pleasure in sharing misery with others
Absolutely grand event, lovely!
