- Chasing big desert Mule Deer bucks with a bow vs mule deer hunting in the high country can differ drastically.
You’ll see this as Erik and Josh chase one big framed four-point buck. A lot has to go right to connect on an old mature desert mule deer with archery equipment.
The two spend the better part of four days chasing one buck and one buck only. Erik passes on other really good bucks and begins to question his thought process.
The buck they are after has seen many seasons and seems to make the right move every time. Almost every time.

Favorite part is coming close so many times and thinking you are going to get him then just coming up short....it makes your success that much of a better feeling.
My favorite part...."Thats a different buck!" I felt the excitement
Best part for sure is just seeing how smart those mature bucks are. They know how to stay alive and sometimes I think they just have a 6th sense that says it's time to get out of here.

My favorite part was seeing your ability to stock so close and even though they busted, you kept a positive attitude and kept pushing to eventually find him again so far away. Tough work!

Crazy to think that what would be a perfect stalk to us is just another day to a big buck. Being able to avoid predators and hunters for long enough to reach that level of maturity, bucks like that must develop a sixth sense! Hope to see the next stalk come together in the next episode!

The struggle is real, no matter how much effort you put in on a stalk sometimes they are just another ridge over.
I had pretty much the same reaction the first time I ate crickets.

Favorite part for me was the stalks. Might not of been successful in the since of releasing an arrow but the adrenaline rush that comes with a stalk is one of the best parts of hunting.

Awesome video and desert terrain you guys are hunting. Been the hardest thing I’ve ever tried to accomplish is getting a shot on a mature desert muley. Favorite part of the video was when you spotted him early and had great footage of him during the stalk
Eating cricket’s was my favorite part.
Favorite part by far is looking at the frame on that dude. Spent a few years chasing one around like that but I never got smarter or luckier then him.

Exact same thing happened to me in the Texas Panhandle this year. Big buck had nowhere to go, somehow gave me the slip. I redeemed myself in the Davis mountains though and I get the euro back in about a month so that table hooker would go perfect in my office. Haha great video guys can’t wait for Part 2. #earnyourobsession

I'll be honest I skipped over the longer cricket scene was not my cup of tea lol.
My favorite part was when he caught both guys in the camera and the buck was just in front of them. Really shows how vegetation from a distance doesn't look thick nor a problem, but how it can completely change a situation once your actually in it looking for a buck
