Perhaps you can make a suggestion. Dealer installed an 8" Atlas hydraulic set back on a 2016 Ranger 620FS powered by a Yamaha 250 SHO. Previously had a 8" Slidemaster mechanical jack that I tweaked to run 58-61 mph depending on environmental and loading conditions (5800-6000 rpm), respectively. Now the best I can do is 54-57 mph at 5400-5700 rpm. And that's generally all the way down with ~75% trim (similar to previous setup). At best I can raise 1-1 1/2" before losing speed with a consistent rpm and no more than 50% trim (according to the trim guage). While I enjoy the flexibility the hydraulic adjustment provides and understand that 1-1 1/2 mph is all that I could expect, I've lost 3-4 mph. Any thoughts? Mounted too high?? Thanks in advance. I've already tried the manufacturer of the product and the boat who say I'm on my own. Thanks in advance.
Wow thanks for the reply . The boat is a Carolina skiif that I bought used it's got a 90 horse mercury long shaft on it with no jack plate . So now I think I'm going to get one and have the motor remounted .
@@randyscott3386 hopefully that'll work for you. I bought mine used as well. It's an 06 Nitro 591 and when I'd try to get on plane, the front end would stand way up, water would come over the transom. So I lowered the jack plate and needed a new prop too because the guy I bought it from pulled a fast one on me and didn't tell me the prop was the wrong size for the boat
@@josephgibson2408 No , my brother wound up buying the boat and neither of us ever got a jack plate for it so the boat is slowly turning into a piece of yard art .

Most twin cats run them on the outside of the sponsors....like a 39 mti...or even the eliminator's...I have a single 225 sho on my eliminator sprint and it's pretty quick...great fuel economy and fun...bout 67 MPH

What if you have water coming into the boat over the transom ? Does that mean the motor is set to low in the water ?
Had that happen with mine. Motor was too high on jack plate

Where is the trim tab on that engine?
You don´t need one when you have hydraulic steering :)
WHEN USING HIGH RAKE PROPS WE PUT A FLAT ZINC ANODE THERE INSTEAD OF THE TRADITIONAL FIN STYLE.....SAME PLACE JUST FLAT NO FIN.
hi mate can you run twin outboards in the tunnel of a eliminator daytona 19ft i would like your opinion thanks

No you’ve told me nothing height in relation to transom vee?
Wrong! Jackplate all way up trim all way down. Right before boat hits on plane you start cranking plate down, while trimming up. Stop lying yo people
I was about to say the same thing, because how else can someone get on plane in shallow water with the plate all the way down lol
That's what I was thinking, he's backwards with his explanation.
Why is the lower leg silver?

Pro xs (silver lower) engine vs four stroke (black lower)
Pro xs is programmed for an extra 250 rpm.
