How to keep this heartrending beauty alive for posterity? I've been haunted for years by this question. The Anglicanism in my part of the world has lost the ability to chant; is losing even the ability to sing hymns in parts. How do we ensure that humanity keeps these lines unbroken as we mature into our stewardship of Life, and send our arks forth to seek God and truth in the boundless cosmos?
@@TrinityCollegeChoir Thanks for the reply..! I have been (and will continue) to share these recordings to those who might be interested. Really appreciate your providing it on this channel.
Why is it necessary for the centre front rank sopranos to nod? Other choirs don't do it. Reference the great choir down Kings Parade in the King's Chapel.
Not quite, they have a conductor standing in the middle and beating. Trinity does it as an ensemble, with one person on each side leading, instead of a conductor. It gives a much more organic and collective rendition.
A simple piece of music but showed Parry was a master of it all!
Psalm 84. Amen, a heavenly Amen and Amen, an all encompassing blessed Shalom.
sooo beautifulllllll!
Beautiful as always
I was just marveling at Helen Charleston's rendition of "How to keep the music playing", but the pure simplicity of this chant _rocked_ me.

Beautiful, but why without organ?
Because now, we are in lent.
I find it better this way. You appreciate the harmony better. Its a chant for a reason.
