A few words to say thank you. I'm french and not really good in mechanics but thanks to your video I managed to do it all by myself! Every thing is clear and the only part difficult was behind the wheels. my tips: removed them to have more space. Cool video.. hey those purple clips on the vw connectors are extra locks to prevent the wires from pulling out of the connector. I'm a vw mech and about shit myself when I saw that haha

Really helpful! One tip from me. Try a deep 10mm socket for the the nuts under the wheel arch at the front of the wing. My socket was too shallow. Ended up cutting a 10mm spanner in to get the nuts off!

Heya Brian. We did change the bumper. Just for a bashed up textured one. Works well and suits the tatty trade van it is in our eyes. We appreciate its not everyones thing.

Great video. Did you need to fabricate any bumper brackets at all? Checked out the 'travelin' site and their kits mentioned needing to manufacture Headlight and Bumper brackets. Thanks for the efforts....

Hey, any advice for me? I've done the facelift thanks to the help in this video, but I've a problem with the headlights. On dip they point quite low but when you switch to full beam they point way too high, so I totally miss the point in the road I need to light up. It's like a dark band between the two. Can you help 'shed any light" on this problem? (sorry about the pun)
Hi Rob. The Cable ties are not installed off the back of doing the job wrong or laziness. We can assure you after installing brackets on a few previous facelifts that good stainless cable ties work brilliantly. We appreciate the word ‘cable tie’ and "doing doing the job correctly” don’t often go in the same sentence however we believe this to be a good solution. This video is a guide, not gospel. If its not you’re thing thats all good. Cheers for watching, thanks for the feedback.
S+S INFO defo my thing guys, looking at doing the same job, hence watching the video, but theres a lot of mass in those lamps, im not convinced ”just stopping them bouncing” is all thats needed . . . VW put a mounting on the bottom of the lamp for a reason, and a small fab job would see it done in a manner that would gaurantee it wont break the top mounts . . however far along in the future
We hear ya. There are many probable ways to skin this cat. All are technically wrong unless you acquire the front subframe as thats the only OEM way of doing it. Shoot us a mail when you’re done as would be good to hear your findings. Let us know how you get on. Cheers.

Any T5.1 bumper will do the trick. We like, much to the confusion of others, the trade spec plastic ones however 99% of people we be hunting for the sport-line esque style ones. They all fit.

You can make and probably buy brackets however we still reckon beefy cable ties do the same job any bracket can or will...

By taking out the purple clip you have removed the pin retainers this can not be right
purple clip is needed you only need to remove it to add the drl wiring into the fitting once in,replace it as it holds the pin retainers as you said

Are these all genuine vw parts?
Absolutely not! well... A few are, the bonnet, wiring looms, lights and bulbs etc are all rouge. The bumper and transferable parts are all OEM VW.
