    Really love your videos/reviews! Very informative. I just ordered my first pair of GR Ballistic Trainers in the lunar/charcoal and can’t wait to give them a try.

      Thanks for the kind words! Hope you enjoy the shoes. Wish I could keep mine clean. They are so fresh right out of the box.

    Agree. Had mine since June 2021. I use them for CrossFit type and F3 workouts weekly, plus SRT. I also used them this past year for our annual 28 mile memorial walk. They worked better than the MACV-1's I've been using. this walk is all on pavement. I'll be getting more, but I also haven't been climbing ropes on mine--wish I could.

      Not sure they'd be my first choice for 28 mile walk, but glad to hear they worked for you!

      @thadforester i do f3 as well. I was wondering about sizing for them. In nike running shoes i’m about a 10-10.5. Any recommendations would be helpful.

      @@Rucking they def weren't my first choice, but they came thru. I used them again for this year's walk.

      @@walkerkyle73 Good question. I don't wear Nike's anymore b/c they don't feel as good on me, but I have bought many of them. Most of them I went up slightly. So, I wear an 11.5 in everything, but I have a few Nick's that are 12 and some 11.5. All of my ballistic trainers are 11.5. If you have both 10 and 10.5 in Nike, my recommendation would be size 10 in Ballistic trainers.... but I haven't bought Nike in several years so not sure if they've stayed true to their sizing. Hope this helps. FYI, the ballistic trainers are built for mountain climbers too--that lip on the toe is tough.

    I have a pair of the black ballistic trainers with the camo bottom ( can’t think of the actual name). Would these same shoes be your choice during late fall/winter? I live in Virginia and I am thinking about my options when the temperature drops. Also, could you do a video on how you train for GoRuck during the cold season…

    • @Rucking
      @Rucking  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      For all CrossFit type training, these are my shoes. Doesn’t matter the season. As for the video request, I’ll give it some thought. I appreciate then input.

    How wide is the toe box? I usually wear Xero's which have a fairly wide toe box. But I feel like these shoes would last longer.

    I've been using them for Crossfit too. I'm much more of a shoe nerd than you and I appreciate the lower drop of the flatter insole. I encourage you to at least give them a try.

    • @Rucking
      @Rucking  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I didn’t realize the insole influenced the drop. I’ll have to take a closer look. I just thought it was thinner across the board.

    Curious... Would the issue you're having with the heel be covered under SCARS?
    I've been wondering to what extent they cover their shoes.

    • @Rucking
      @Rucking  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Probably not. Feel like that’s just normal wear and tear after a year of wearing.

      @@Rucking on the Scars page, it says "or if you actually manage to wear our stuff out". Followed by "at our discretion".
      Of course, I'm sure I'm reading into that WAY too much. Lol Just curious where that line is.

      Take some pics and send them to SCARS. They just replaced a pair of MACV-1s for a sole separation issue I had after 8 months.

    About to order my first pair. Not sure about sizing. My brannock size is 8E. On pumas and adidas, I wear 8.5D because my toes do expand a little due to years of martial arts training. Been getting conflicting info on sizing. Some say be true to size. Others say go up cause theyre narrow. But ruck says get half size smaller. So which is it? Any insight is appreciated.

    • @Rucking
      @Rucking  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is true for me. 10 in most shoes (brooks, most commonly) and 10 in GORUCK. I don’t find them narrow, but I came to them from Nike Metcons, which are very narrow. Hope that helps some.

    This video has some useful info - but I wish it was better organized - the video sort of meanders and the speaker stretches out about one minute of useful info into a 9 min video.

      @@tawaitai I don't make shoe reviews. If I did that means I woukd also have done all the research that goes into it and I would not need to watch a video like this. Don't be mad if someone makes an observation that has constructive criticism. This video could definitely lose a lot of the fat and the useful info condensed into a min. I am sure it would have received many more views if it was produced as such.
