This video was posted a while ago, but I just thought i woudl say its nice to see people incorraging kids to be involved in a fun and yet educational way. Good work :)
The rubber bands are taped / tied to the very lip of the pipe .The gliders always have rise at least 1/4th an inch , they always clear .Their is a hook on each glider at optimum nose underside .
I remember way back in the mid 1960's a small hand held stick and rubberband glider, and I always wanted one then and still find them facinating today. (I was 6yo at the time, kind of tell you my mental age does'nt it lol) These are just a larger version and really I do want one :)
You have the talent and eye for this, young friend! Maybe a little more sanding to smooth and taper everything off a bit, and your creations will soar with your spirit!
Very nice. However your remark about double dihedral creating more lift is wrong. The wing would actually have slightly less lift, The reason for a double is only to add to flight stability.
Its called Polyhedral. Double dihedral that is. They all look great have fun with the kids. I build a little more high performance gliders, but the end result is much the same, fun is had that s the point in the end, if we learn a little something thats a bonus. Peace.
@xGINGERKID26x I cut the wings first down the middle then halfed that .I sanded them a little so they would fit back together angled up more . I put on a lot of hot glue .These are heavy and couldnt fly withouthout catapaulting .
can you tell me how can we make it stable and smooth at which angle should be the dihedrals how much weight should we put forward please tell me i m on a project to make one
hello... i was wondering if u can send me a picture of the plane at 2:02. im doing a project and i need some ideas and i really like this one :) reply please.
While your gliders were not terribly successful, as it seem people are obsessed with telling you in rather harsh ways....It the spirit that really matters here. If more kids were exposed to this sort of thing I'm sure there would be less "science is hard" and more "science is fun". Keep up the good work :)
@prkidd728 You cant fly any toys on thesegliders . Watch this video and see how we flew spider man and dr doom figures . Copy and paste this title: "Hang Gliders 4' Models launched at Hyde Pak Pavilion"

wow your the best teacher you should be awarded

Looks like fun!
dude you make awsome boomarangs

Wings glued on with hot glue .most planes have 2 pennies glued on the fuselage.Hook is bent cut coat hanger wire .
ive got 7 and one of them flies sooooooooooooooooo well, but i like your yellow one

Just what kids need.... great lesson.
ya. feels good.

wow flys wery high

Very nice and encouraging.
cool!!!!
@easyeagle2 i was gonna say this, too...dihedral creates rolling stability.
Ok correct me ,what effect does it do .If I recall corectly it makes them loop de loop.I am more knowledgable on boomerang terminology .
can you tell me how can we make it stable and smooth at which angle should be the dihedrals how much weight should we put forward please tell me i m on a project to make one
must be a pain to pick up afterwards
Keep in mind that no two of these planes are identical .Straight wings , wings with dihedrahl , and double dihedral.
Gliders made from 1/4 or 3/16 thick balsa wings .Strong rough and tough shot at 45 mph?
They launch better if tilted nearly sideways on launch. They will level off at the top instead of looping and crashing into the ground.
Put some motors and fans and they are reaty to rolll!
Do you have plans?
do you need those weight things like plascticine (clay) on those gliders for balance and stabillity
Why be little a total stranger ? Each plane was slightly altered to move towards a better flight .I am novice to gliders but not the boomerangs.

More dihedral makes LESS lift, more stability yes, but definitely less lift.
I'd be afraid they'd slam into that post
please tell me how to bend the wings
what is the maximum weight of each glider?
The two dihedrals at the end of the wing is called poly dihedral sir
@pagani8 That said, I still liked the video.
Where can I buy balsa wood?

Que interesantes, casi todos bajan tan rápido como suben jeje
Cicada capital of the USA! These are the green cicadas not the 16 year type.
I wish I could have a boomerang but they cost to much

You control thrust by how far back you pull.Note how little the girl pulls.Boys are macho and pull back to Mexico.
The web address is now dead .Webshots deleted all albums.
I dont sell these or give out plans .The flight is flawed .I'm a newbie .Copy far better plans at glider forums websites .
boomerang is pronounced, AB-BO-RIGE-INAL
