It seems people are failing to realize these are meant to be in ear monitors 1st and foremost. Not just "ear buds" In ears of this quality literally sell for 8-10x the price KZ is letting them go for. They could triple in price and STILL be the best value on the in ear monitor market to date. Likewise, you won't hear the full potential of these from a phone/mp3 player. They're meant to be connected to a high powered sound source. As a musician this company as really changed the game and made ears affordable!
firstly NO they can't sell them for triple or double the price, they use dirty cheap chinese no name generic drivers in comparison to custom made knowles or sonion drivers, second you DO hear the full potential of them even from a decent phone as the KZ IEMs all have pretty low impedance which literally is meant for portable use and lastly they are NOT a game changer - not even close, if you look into aliexpress there are literally tons of other chinese IEMs with the same quality for the same price - go figure dude
yes the axon 7 is fine, the 4490 is a good dac but the dac does not have anything to do with "powering" these IEMs, you have to look into the amp output of your phone and the impedance of the IEMs, in this case the AS10 have an impedance of 32 OHm which should be ok for a smartphone but you would benefit from a mini amp, amps actually do change the sound quite a bit you should go for something like the fiio a1 for IEMs
AS10 is good for its price, and its pure BA implementation is good also. I guess they are good enough to compete with TFZ, Kinera, and Shozy as far as their price and tuning goes.
Your vids are getting better and better mate, hopefully these will be better than the ZS10's I got, which I didn't like at all! Cannot stand the cables, KZ pls fix! Thank you for the video!
Never heard in any other reviews the AS10's were 3D printed....makes sense! I agree KS10 is laid back, but still articulate w good imaging, soundstage wide, but IMHO instrument separation is very good...i hear things on familiar tracks i never heard...AS10 sounds like it continues w these qualities. I will say, the KS10 definitely.....reaps benefits from a good quality amp and DAC, portable or office combo. That laid back nature goes away, with more presence not just volume, well worth u to review these multiple driver KZ's now w your favorite DAP/AMP/DAC as a followup review, i see other reviewers going that route. I enjoy all your reviews 👌🏻👍🏻😎😎😎
HydroBandit Tech Man Z would be the best to answer your question. I do not own the AS10, only the KS10. From Z's review, the AS10 are more forward sounding, better bass.....Zs10 he said has a wider soundstage. I use an equalizer app EQu to fine tune sounds, or i use the Astell & Kern AK JR digital audio player with a built in amp and DAC....which makes ks10 sound even better. Not going to pay more $$$ to buy AS10 when KS10 sounds great to me. I think they are overpriced!
I ordered the AS10s earlier this week and will be waiting on them. I just got the Xiaomi MI Pro HD in yesterday and I am blown away by the sound quality. Waiting to see wht the AS10s can bring and then one of the two have to go. lol
One of your BEST reviews! Never would have figured BA drivers would give powerful bass, maybe tighter bass, but not that strong, wow! Go figure! KZ could continue to grow in cost...think u mentioned these exceed $70-75?? ...ebay has them for $53 without a mic, free shipping, that, not more i would consider paying. With that said, that metal faceplate is a waste, cost could be saved there. I know all about premium pkg attracts a different niche of consumers, but even that they could save cost. KZ could easily drop the cost to $48...going above $50 they risk alienating faithful KZ owners who like me, enjoy a brand that offers a cost effective, high value earphone...from a company that creates improved designs from our feedback, that provides better quality audio at reasonable prices. Start inflating the prices I myself would go to another brand!
You can find them on eBay for $45 right now. They're definitely worth MUCH more than the "get it now" $68 Amazon price. If the AS10 had Audio Technica, Sennheiser or Nuforce on them.....$400 EASILY.
Man, I have the ZS10's with medium comply foam tips (Isolation pack) and I think the bass is great! I'm interested in trying out the AS10's though. I may order a pair soon. I think the fact KZ is marketing the AS 10's with the 3D printing that is how they justify increasing the price without including more tips. Great review :D
Thanks for the review. I have been very happy with the ZS3's. I was looking at trying the ZS10's and now feel the AS10's are the way to go. I must admit I have mixed feelings on price. One of the major draw cards for me was the price bs quality. At about a $100 Australian the value for money aspect loses much of its lustre.
Just got this today for the price can't beat them hands down. Using them with LG V30 with Nutron player, with slight changes to alignment for the right channel to even out the sound, with parametric EQ set the base little lower and so far I'm loving it, VERY LOUD cans, saporatiin is good the base is heavy but not so detailed, these kids and high are ok not into wow factor, but over all I like it, I'm coming from HD 650, P1s, SE 425, HiFiman ES4, and I had ishine 20s for few days used them with fiio x5 3rd gen, and onkyo DP 1 For me the Audeze ishine 20s are the best sounding cans of course way more expensive than this but sound wise those are the one for me, can't wait to get back to U.S. so I can find them at a decent price, they are so expensive at overseas (Philippines)
$55 would be palatable as u say if they include a better set of eartips foam and silicone, bluetooth adapter. The copper core braided cable SOUNDS good, but it is soooooo annoying to untangle them every time we use them, a better cable is a must also.
As of today i ordered the KZ as10 with bluetooth bundle for 46$ on ali express, so with that little extra i had left i got the upgraded cable and some foam tips for 13$.
ofcourse it is a very reasonable price... considering that there are much higher priced iems out there which kz's are way better than them... by the way the kz as10's price now is only under 50 dollars here in the philippines under P2,400 pesos..
have you tried the BA 10s? Also at the price point, I think given what goes into them they are keeping the prices as low as possible with still turning in a profit which if it furthers research on better sounding lower cost IEMs I'm all for, but I agree they should at least be more generous with ear tips as those aren't a huge cost and would probably be cheaper to put in the box then that metal bar.
Is there a 5 balanced armature driver that is priced lower than these ? Or is there a better sounding IEM priced lower than these ? The answer to this answers the price question.
The problem with AS10's that there's basically no treble at all. Just look at the frequency response curve and you'll notice a +15dB for bass and -15dB for treble. I increased the 14kHz of my AS10 for 15dB and the treble's still quieter than any normal earphones.
I own ATH MSR 7 and KZ ZS6 (with upgraded silver plated cable), FiiO A3 , the music source is AXON 7. Should I upgrade with KZ AS10 for different sound signature..? Please suggest... thanks in advance..
Right now they are 42€ on AliExpress only 2 days left ppl I have the ES4, are these AS10s worth it? Or shall I stay with mine until they launch another even better headphone?
One of your best reviews dude. I'm quite amazed by the fact that the bass on these with only BA is so punchy. How are the mids on AS10 go against ZS5 ?
As a keyboard player on gigs , I prefer as much as possible a flat analyzer , to hear the realistic image from my equalizers on my presets sounds . So , which is the best choice ? AS10 or ZS10 ?
I don't own the AS10, but if it's true that those have pronounced bass and treble, then I would see the KZ10 as the more neutral option. I specifically like them for this feature.
I'm using the KZ ZST iem's at the moment, these are my first IEM and first KZ's. I was literally blown away by the sound of these IEM's, never did i have a better earbud then these. now i'm looking into the these AS10's. But the ES4 is also being reviewed as very good IEM's... I think 70$ is a high price, but for an iem with 5 balanced armature drivers it is just a bargain.... Did you use the standard cable? I'm using the TRN silver upgrade cable which makes a very big difference on my ZST's, recommended upgrade for just a couple of bugs. The ear hook is way better then the standard cable and the sound is much better. absolutely the best upgrade to the KZ IEM's.
The AS10 is better. More forward fuller sounding mids and they don't have that peaky upper mid bass bump like the V80. Also the AS10 has a more natural and un elevated treble compared to the V80. V80 is still good but I prefer the AS10.
Would you described be the as 10 as punchy or boomy? The price is slowly becoming more expensive. But there aren't very many headphones with this setup on the market.
I've not tried these but I think it's difficult they're worth twice as much as the zs10s and a lot more comparing to some others (es4 for example). I agree that for the price they should bring a lot more eartips (including some good foam ones) and at least a carrying case...! I've thought of giving the zs10s a try but I won't definitely try the as10s, they are too expensive for me... Waiting for the BA10s though...
I own a pair of es4s and I think they're on the edge of what I'd say it's an acceptable pronounced bass (for me). How do these compare in terms of bass?
Change the connections between the left and right parts, when I bought my es4 I thought that I connected them Right, but they were in the opposite side
CloudSound These are NOT BASSY. They reproduce bass OF its in the recording. They do NOT have an over exaggerated bass by any means. These will get the job done and not really leave you wanting for more unless you’re a bass head. The AS10 COULD use a bit more extension in lower registers of sub bass.

You can only use OTHER headphones as a reference to how forward or laid back a track sounds. A good example of a headphone thats very forward sounding is the Audio Technical M50x. Usually the terms forward or laid back refer to the frequency response in the upper mids that give a sense of closeness or more distance. And this can vary depending on if track has a female with higher vocals or a male with a VERY deep voice. You could have a headphone that has very accurate mids and VERY in your face like you’re right up in front of the stage at a live show. A laid back headphone....you’re standing at the back near the bar.
Zs10 is better to me (for classical music). More natural. Also I prefer the fit, because it doesn't need to be inserted deep in ears. I feel they are almost not there. As10 is a bit to agressive in both how they feel in ears and the sound. It feels the sound is compressed a bit compared to zs10. I even edited the sound on zs10 for my latest video if you want to check (Brahms piano quintet) and it helped me to get rid of the annoying frequences.
@@bizjakboris yeah. I have it for a month and it's the best thing I Have had but I wish they included better ear tips. what's curious on these and got a deal for 44us no mic, free shipping, just arrived today and after hearing them for a couple of hours, they sure sound pretty good and for the price they are a steal how don't mind if the ba are kz made in China these sound better then my westone w30, and have mor base then my shure se535 and all most as detailed in the midst and hi and those iem run me back in the day 400us each so these are a steal fist I wanted to hear them and now I'm shure they will get a good balanced cable
I think $70 is a little too much they're right at the edge of me not buying them but because I know of KZs reputation I will be buying them. I think they should have kept the price at about $55.
Zs10, As10, KZ is turning hard to catch up with. Anyway, I just ordered the new (?) USB type C cable with that little DAC on it; by the time it arrives you've already done a review, I bet 🤣. Thanks for the videos! 😉
Dan Akmal Thanks a bunch for the feedback! I'm still trying to figure out if it's possible to use it in any Android 7 phone, and with the micro USB to type C adapter. Cheers
I would guess a reverse of V-shape, which would mean in a sense lows and highs being subdued. More likely he just means otherwise just neutral but mid forward earphones
I own the ZS10, they cost 40 EUR on Amazon. The AS10 cost 50 EUR on Amazon, both free shipping. Thanks for the review, I was thinking about getting the AS10, but I don't want more bass or more highs. So far I'm very satisfied with the ZS10. The amount of bass depends hugely on the fit of the ear tips. I don't want BOOM in my ears, when the song wasn't meant to be sounding like that. When one can find a completely sealing ear tip the bass goes very deep without getting mushy.
You're the only one thats saying the as has more bass then the zs. Intressting. And if you're a bass head the only choice is a crusher wireless headphone haha
There no balance at all in this earphones. It takes more than put 5 BA drivers together. There is no good adjustment between the individual drivers so the sound is not good at all. Way too bright.

I think the price is fair knowing KZ's quality. I be buying a pair once my Visa payment clears.
The price is too much for me. You're right, they should add more eartips or the bluetooth adapter.
i can read this review on your web?
What phone do you have? Is it an iPhone?
Yup. the phone in the video is an IPhone SE.
Yeah as10 sound v shaped, anyone know a pair of A shaped earbuds I can buy?
I would guess a reverse of V-shape, which would mean in a sense lows and highs being subdued. More likely he just means otherwise just neutral but mid forward earphones
Soooo AS10 vs BA10, which one?
As10 ftw!
Forgot to mention, for my preference, I like ZS6 and ZS5 better than the ZS10. ZS6>ZS5>ZS10. With that in mind, should I still go with AS10?
Ok- that changes everything. With that in mind, I'm pretty sure that you're going to prefer the sound on the ba10's over the sound on the as10's
Hot damn, good thing I remembered to add that information, lol. Thanks for the help, my man :)
🙏my pleasure!
With a coupon you can get them for 41 euro's on AliExpress
How?
Kz as10 or VRN v80
Is $67 US or Canadian?
USD
70$ kz is going the same as other manufacturer. They are increasing price for improving quality.
You mean a crazy amount of sub bass????!!!!! Holy makoral ima get this!!!
Too pricey! Good review men
$70 is. A GOOD PRICE. think about it. 5 drivers.
There no balance at all in this earphones. It takes more than put 5 BA drivers together. There is no good adjustment between the individual drivers so the sound is not good at all. Way too bright.
"watching this with my kz hd9"
How do you keep that little hat from falling off?
LMAO...U mean ear tips...I was thinking the same thing.
I got the AS10s for $37.
good job, you bought them fake ones on Aliexpress :))
LoL a counterfeit Z showed up
I have the AS10' BEST earphones I ever owned. I disagree that the bass is pronounced. Its actually pretty flat to my ear.
Wait till you've tried the BGVP DM6 ;)
How about TRN V80? Would you prefer V80 or AS10?
