      It seemed like more than 39 episodes. I swear I haven't seen all of them. My family and I used to watch this in the late 1960's and early 1970's on our small 20"( I think) Black & White TV. 0f course color didn't matter because I was taped in B&W. Great family times when both mom, dad and 4 brothers and a sister were alive to watch it. I was the baby so I have lost a lot. However that was 1 show that was entertaining to watch. We knew at the end Ralph would have to apologize for something he did wrong

    Jackie Gleason and Dean Martin had something in common: a photographic memory. Gleason’s memory was so good that he not only memorized his own lines, but those of his cast mates. Both could read their scripts once then had the lines committed to memory.

    • @ilsaramos379
      @ilsaramos379 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      He never liked to rehearse. They showed him cue cards. When he repeats his lines, or staggers, that's when he forgot his lines. Repeated lines gave the crew time to write the lines, show him, then he would say it. Sometimes he'd make them up.

    You all are forgetting the episodes on Dumont early on and then on CBS with Jackie Gleason's shows from 1963 until 1970. Jane Kean, Sue Ann Langston, Shiela MacRea and even Elaine Stritch played the roll of Alice Kramdon or Trixie Norton......a number of other Actors had that role...45 Episodes with Jane Kean as Trixie and 46 Episodes with Shiela MacRae as Alice.....I always think of Shiela MacRae as Alice first, from watching when I was growing up

    I’ve watched The Honeymooners since I was in my early teens on wpix channel 11 at 11:30, NY channel in NJ. and still at age 61 ( today actually) I still go to bed watching The Honeymooners. Classic. Talent like these shining stars doesn’t exist anymore.

    Both Jackie Gleason and Art Carney were hilarious with their comedic timing😂😂😂 Ralph would always yell at Norton for his stupidity and always taking his time to do anything😂😂😂 "Come On" was one of his trademark lines😂😂😂 That and "Bang,zoom" and "hamana,hamana,hamana"😂😂😂

    My favorite is Ed Norton Ed Norton in my opinion is the funniest of the cast the way he drives Ralph crazy when he tries to do just a simple things that takes him forever like shooting pool to name one thing

    I've been seeing this show on and off ever since I can remember. It will always occupy a place in my heart. In fact I have such a strong sense of that little apartment that it feels like I've actually been in it. Feels like home to me!

    You're going to have to update your video...the iconic actress, Joyce Randolph, who played opposite Art Carney(Ed Norton's) wife, "Trixie Norton", died yesterday, January 13, 2024. She was 99 years old. Rest In Peace, dear Trixie!!! 😭

    Thank you for the well done and researched video. Time flys so make the most out of it.
    Fave one? They all had their own story but the Christmas one where love is the real reason for the season.
    I remember when Art C. did a Christmas special where he had this wish and it was granted where he could give gifts from his 'magical bag' even though that time was brief and even though the 'bag's magic' was gone the true sprite of Christmas or how ever one wants to celebrate a 'holiday(s)' the meaning of love and careing stays the same.
    Take care. 🤘👻💖

      The honeymooners was before the Jackie Gleason show. When the Jackie Gleason show, a variety show ran, they added a segment with the honeymooners in it… In that Version of the honeymooners, Alice was played by Sheila McRae.

    Besides the Fab Four I think I liked the mother in law. In Funny Money when Ralph and Norton were trying to burn the bills up in the stove Alice’s mother bursts in with police and yells “OFFICER ARREST THAT BIG FAT ONE!! AND THESE OTHERS ARE PROBABLY MEMBERS OF HIS GANG!!!”
