    today was the first day I have ever heard about fgm. I am 14 and I am disgusted I had to find out about this myself, and that there are thousands of girls who don't know about the risk of this. PEOPLE NEED TO BE EDUCATED ABOUT THIS!!

      Have you read Desert Flower, by Waris Dirie ? Great book!

      Vicky Graham is a viscious misandrist peddling lies whipping up hatred as anyone can read in the comments section on the video: President Sierra Leone says banning FGM is political suicide
      Waris Dirie had her own child cut and boasted about it in her autobiography!

      As long as the US does MGM, Africa will do FGM. They used to say smoking was healthy. The US medical industry was reluctant to tell people smoking was bad for you because it made a lot of money. It’s the same thing with male circumcision. It makes too much money to admit that it isn’t healthy

    Fgm destroyed my life I'm full of rage hate and pain !! and I thought i was fortunate because I was born and raised up in country where fgm is unknown it's not in Europe it's not in north America it's the birth country of Islam the birth place of the prophet of Islam and his companions kingdom of Saudi Arabia and guess what my father would be arrested if I have complained to the police but I didn't do it because I was scared and confused and unaware that I even have that right !!
    Ofcourse somebody encouraged them to mutilated me who was my mother'smother who came to perfume Hajj and srayed 2 weeks at our house ! I will never forgive them and in the hereafter I will stand infront of the justice judge the mighty and ask him to bring these predators to questioning !!

    "But what kind of man wants his wife to experience excruciating pain"
    That one hits hard and is soooo true
    Either they don't know or they don't care

      Do you ask the same question of women? What kind of mother wants her newborn baby to experience excruciating pain? Apparently an awful lot more counting most mothers in USA apparently. These wives who have experienced the pain of the cutting have their own children cut too don't forget.

      Just please ignore the troll. I think male circumcision is wrong as well unless done for absolutely necessary health reasons. Nevertheless, fortunately men won't experience pain during s*4x because of it, unlike what happens in fgm, because fgm is specifically designed to keep women from enjoying s*4x, so that they wouldn't have affairs with other men apart their husbands, because now s*4x has been made a chore and a torture.

      This is done BECAUSE of their belief in god. You can't have it both ways. Ban religion and FGM and male circumcision will hopefully disappear as well.

      Sure, I'd really like to know more. Were you stitched up like Naimah's cousin? Do you have cousins/siblings/children who were also stitched up? I understand that the stitches girls have are cut on their wedding night, do grooms just as much as brides not find this a bit offputting?

    Ms Speaker, it would have been better if this speech you would've delivered without head scarf because wearing that is intellectual circumcision and you have accepted that.

    Its my understanding that this horrible practice is deemed appropriate or worse in the Shafii madhab of Sunni Islamic jurisprudence. There's certainly a positive correlations.

      Name one positive thing about FGM. Or did I read your comment wrong?

    • @zahrai1235
      @zahrai1235 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      FGM is not apart of Islam. It’s literally called Fircawni (Pharoah Ramesses II) a practise taken from the old Ancient Egyptian rule. Any Abrahamic religion understands that any practises from the Pharoah have no place in Islam and should in fact be denounced.

    • @fritnat
      @fritnat 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@darylatkins2909 There's almost all the same purported positive things about this practice on girls as there is when done on boys eg it's more pleasing to look at, cleaner, enhances performance, subdues urges, less chance of diseases, increases feelings of belonging so better mental health etc. etc.

    • @fritnat
      @fritnat 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@zahrai1235 You're telling half truths. In Somalia it's also called gudiniin, halalays, and qodiin. The practice is far older than ancient Egypt, from the time we were all Africans and spread with the great out of Africa migrations tens of thousands of years ago. Egypt being a transcontinental country it likely spread there from the rest of the continent in passing. The fact that infibulation is most common in the Horn of Africa suggests this is where it originated. I take it you denounce the practice on boys too then and that it has no place in Islam as the evidence this was practiced by the Pharoahs is stronger than female infibulation? Note that Islam is the only significant religion in which most adherents are cut.
