    Hey, your horse did amazing!!!
I’m learning English, I’ve been riding for my whole life (15 years) and have done western but want to start jumping now. I’ve been jumping for a little bit now and my trainer is going to teach me some dressage next week, idk why but she knows more than I do lol. How long does it take to get this advanced in dressage?
One last thing, my horse has done barrels with me but we’ve trainer her to jump and she’s doing great. Do you think she could learn piaffe if I did everything in the video?

Working from groundwork can be the best way to teach it! It will take time but with consistency they are capable of so much!

@@AmeliaNewcombDressagethanks for replying! So it don’t matter that she’s not a purebred dressage horse?

Hi Amelia! I have a question. Is it ever too soon to start working on training the piaffe from the ground? My horse and I are only doing second level work, but would it hurt to start training this early on, or should I wait?

Not at all. As long as your horse accepts the bridle.

How do you teach them to start taking the half steps? I’ve done the leg lifting, leg yielding, turn on the forehand. But I can’t get him to even attempt half steps. He’s a mustang.

You combine the leg lifts with forward motion once your horse has the above prerequisites outlined in the above video. Hoping you took advantage of her masterclass as that question is in there. Happy riding!
