Playing music with lyrics while people are talking in the video makes it difficult for folks with certain neurological and hearing conditions to understand what people are saying. It's okay to turn the music OFF for that part of the video. It will still be an excellent video without music playing constantly.

Thanks so much for your comment. I have begun to become aware of this problem, thanks to friends like you. I probably won't remake the current videos, but have made adjustments with how we've produced later ones.
I'm curious if the same problem presents itself when music is used with no lyrics, at a lower volume. Or does all background music pose a challenge?

I don't understand why people do this.

      Yeah. It’s super annoying. I couldn’t finish because I couldn’t hear.

Turning on captions will help a bit.

@@JeffSimpson-bg9zo I don't believe it's really asking too much for people to consider the needs of others and refrain from using music while people are speaking in their videos. Especially if their goal is effective communication with the largest possible audience.
When we are UNNECESSARILY bombarded with both sung AND spoken words, you are suggesting we should use written words to distinguish what is INTENDED to be communicated by the poster [who COULD HAVE used music without lyrics to begin with, or learned how to turn the music off when they were speaking]?
No. That's not really making things BETTER for folks with Auditory Processing Disorder. I always have to use closed captioning, music or no music. But because of APD I am neurologically incapable of ignoring the words being sung. So the only way to effectively use closed captioning in those circumstances is by turning off the sound entirely. And if all I'm doing is READING what the poster is saying, I might as well look for blogs and articles about the topic, rather than videos.

Love the video but the music in the background is really distracting.

      Hi Linda,
Thank you for sharing your experience. I've come to agree. We've adjusted our background music approach in more recent videos. I hope you'll consider checking them out. This has and continues to be a learning experience for me. Your feedback is always welcome.

Cool designs and great craftmanship. I would recommend leaving out the background music its distracting good for an intro outro. Wonderful to see others with a passion for alternative structures.

Actually, I cannot endure the distraction of the music, and have shut off the video--in spite of my interest in the topic.

Hi Jonathan, thank you for your transparency. I'm sorry for your discomfort. Content creation is a learned skill, and this was from my first season of effort. I hope you find some of my more recent farm tour videos more appealing.

Agreed. The music is totally disytracting, and frankly, inappropriate and counterproductive. I almost shut off this video for this reason.

Ditch the god awful music in the background. Had to stop watching as it was just too obnoxious. This is 2024 not 1923 with Silent Movies. The music is a net negative when attempting to listen to dialog.
