So it was always an issue with the Frogz series, but just like with many animatronics, with age, the problems get worse and much more rampant. Just learning how to repair these things in general will make collecting this kind of stuff less disheartening. Collecting anything mechanical means making frequent repairs, kind of comes with the territory. But that can be a very enjoyable part once you get used to it! In terms of the buttons, if they are pressed too hard or pressed the wrong way, it can sever the wires connection to the actual button, that's what's going on there. So you have to go in through the bottom of the Frogz, turn the leg/foot inside out (don't want to cut into the actually foot, and it's unnecessary) find the button with either one or both wires severed and either just pull the broken wires back through the bottom of the Frogz and just touch them to activate it every time, resolder the wire(s) back to the original button, or you can just replace the old button with a new one from some other random animatronic that could be used for spare parts/isn't valuable to you. Hope this helps.
OH, also, to avoid the problem happening as much in general, you just also have to press the buttons gentler. That makes them last way, way longer. People think they can be a lot rougher with these things (and animated items in general) but that's a sure fire way for them to break down way quicker than they need to.
Here's another tip inside the button is a bent metal plate that loses conductivity over time as it ages so that means you need to take off the top metal piece on top then take off the black plastic piece that sticks out of the top then after that you will see the bent metal plate take it out then spray contact cleaner in side the button and the metal plate then just put it back together and test.
I did the wire trick on other frogz, but sometimes it doesn't work? My jump frogz just makes a tiny sound showing that it's making connection, but then won't start. Any tips?
This happened to one of mine and what I did to fix it is replace the button but what you can do is the wire trick the wire trick is just taking the 2 wires off of the button and to activate it you would have to make them touch and it should work

Rub a screwdriver all over the board of the Frogz with the non-working buttons. Works every time!
