Dude thanks so much for laying out all the functions of this hardware. This is literally what I dreamed of but didn’t think existed. Props my dude, you made a legit easy to understand video! Take it easy
Thanks man, just what I needed. There is a way we can change the indicator leds around each loop to show its true length, so when track one is one bar, then others longer, the lights go around in the circle ⭕️ slower.
Thanks for showing off these effects for beginners. It’s nice to have a place to start, instead of trying to copy people who have had years of experience
Ok everybody calm down, because one thing he forgot to tell you.... is that while he made all that look very simple & easy... it actually takes LOTS & LOTS OF PRACTICE!! LOLOL... I have one and have not had much time on it yet, but I can tell you that getting it to start & stop recording PERFECTLY ON BEAT is VERY TRICKY!! You really gotta have your timing down, because it doesn’t (quantize) your off-beat sounds into perfect synch (at least not that I have found). It records EXACTLY what you do, so if your a newbie like me, believe me, you won’t be doing what you just saw for a looong time... unless you are on it EVERY DAY... FOR HOURS! it’s bad ass tho for real😍... i just suck at it right now! Lmaooo..😂😂😂
@@rodneylarson12 Hey there! :-) Yeah I DEFINITELY would!! It's a very cool unit, well built, and VERY powerful with a TON of functions & capabilities for it's size. I've been more into graphics, animation & video production up to this point, so music production is like learning another language. Dig this, it can even take a microphone and allows you to do LOOPED VOCAL EFFECTS!!! I was like WTF?!?! There's so much packed into this unit, it almost makes you put it to the side for awhile to absorb what you already learned about it lol. But now I need to be able to add MUSIC into my productions, which is why I'm getting all this music gear now. So I'm a TOTAL NOOBIE at all things musical right now... or as you say (home hobbyist) level, so this stuff is all just a bit overwhelming. The musical gear available today is SUPER HI-TECH, as compared to the old videos we see of an old man sitting on a bucket by the corner playing a guitar like Bo-Diddly or a banjo. LOL.. So for me, the goal is to become as proficient at music production as I am at doing animations & videos, then tie it all together. Well we all gotta start somewhere bro, and we gotta learn the new stuff and keep up with new technologies! This bad boy from BOSS is a DAMN GOOD starting point! 😎👍
SO INSPIRED. I've been so intimidated by this fancy expensive loop station i finally bought.... you really helped me understand the controls better. Thank you so much!! What is the keyboard you are using?
Really nice Video, you'll problably neber see thid but do you have some Hidden headphones or a speaker or does the loopstation have its own Speakers build im
Hi there, thanks for the great tutorial! Can someone help me out with this one question? if I press the play button on track 2 but I want it to start playing first when track 1 is back to the first beat of the first bar, how do I configurate the loop station? Thanks!
I'd like to know more about the quantitation when making drums. It sounds like the midi clock allows quantitation when laying down the drums, is this the case? I really want to build a set up that allows this so any clarification would be awesome, thanks! The set up I was thinking was: Allen and Heath SQ5 - Brain of the operation, all inputs going through here - making use of EQ and reverb sends - Stereo output via a bus to the inputs of the loop station, outputs being live as an input on the SQ5. Cubase 11 - low latency operation simply used to generate sounds. Rerouted back to sq5 via usb so I can have individual tracks 2x Live Vocal (straight into sq5) 1x Loop vocal DD90 DigiPad - USB into cubase 11 with SD3 for sounds Keyboard - USB in cubase 11 Guitar and Bass - USB Cubase 11 for amp sounds Acoustic - SQ5 I guess what I need to know is, because of the way I would be running this, the looper would only see everything coming in as a stereo signal from the SQ5, would it be able to quantise the drums coming in? Sorry for the long winded post..I hope you can help!
Hi thank you for the video.........I have a question: in the RC 300 i was recording on different tracks with differet imput volume...seems in the RC 505 this is not possible anymore....can you maybe help me with this?
I feel like the only way to do this is to record seperately on different volumes by turning the input knob. Or putting the volume of different tracks down...
Can you put an ordinary groovebox to it, so you could have a yet almost finished beat on one track and on the other tracks you put a synthesizer or microphone? can you chop an already finished loop from another groovebox or you need to record it 100% perfectly to it?
Just going to let you guys know that this was not exactly meant for these types of beats but beatboxing go look it up this was created by beatboxers but i love how it built for others
Did not understand- you made a dnb loop which is 160 ish but it shows 86 ish. How it helps to a synchronisation via midi clock to your other device if it counts it wrong?
It dose but you gotta time that shit perfect I personally set the mesurement before hand and run the sample on FL or have it on loop and just use 1 measurement before i record. It and just time it right.
@@nicholasmanig7190 Yeah this is the million dollar question I have been asking. If I want to loop guitar riffs, it's nearly impossible to get it to line up. I was looking for a trick to the settings or if I need to run it through something else that quantifies it.
I’m a one band dude. And need a lot of tracks pre made and saved . Can I do this with this machine? If so up to many pre made tracks can I save in this machine?
You can, it's better than any other looper on the market. But it takes a while to get good at timing when you record. If you're even a little off pressing the button it will all be off. Practice makes perfect, I'd say it's worth your money for sure.
@@whiteobama1428 It has a loop sync and cuts off exactly on the beat you are using the looper wrong if you have timing issue with the loop itself this is like the main feature of the loopstation.
How do you apply different effects on different tracks? Through the input a b c on the left? It seems like the track effects on the right apply the same effect to every track
Input FX will be live recorded on the chosen track, and can be set as "single" or "multi" mode. Single mode allows a few more effects, multi mode allows you to have up to 3 effects at once. Same for the Output FX. Both FX sections can be deactived on every track.
The red cable is the mic, then you have to cable for input (, 2 cable for the output (going to a mixer i think), then MIDI IN for the tr-808, then then charger
@DoctorMix Did you forget anything? I dunno.. Can you save or export whatever you create? SD Card/AirDrop hehe... Cos, what happens if you bash out the best music ever in the heat of the moment, but no one else will ever get to hear it cos you cant get the stems/samples/loops into a DAW to mix/engineer. Is it a realtime record-out-per-track to DAW type egg-shell walking process?
can the output effects "A" be applied to track 1 only while i let tracks 2 - 5 play on it's own? another words can i choose which track i want effected..or is it a global output effect for ALL Channels...also can i have Reverb on track 1 and delay on track 2? i'm referring to output...not recording input..

Hey Doctor Mix. In my RC-505 is no 'Guitar to Bass' under In-FX B and neither C. Seems like B and C has only limited amount of filters? Do you know why is that? Can anyone help? I've got firmware 2.0 running...
Some effects are only on A, while others are on B and C. If you have it set to where all of the effects of ABC are activated some Fx cant be accessed while certain ones are being used.

Hey Doctormix, Did you know that there is a new version of Boss RC 505 MK 2 coming out?
What cords do I need ? Like if I want to use the loop station, mic and amplifier
XLR for mic, then a double jack to rca for exemple for the amplifier, or jack to jack for mono
Does RC-505 do quantization? I sometimes find it difficult to overlay similar sounds perfectly, that could help if it has this function.
