The middle shockland is the "mana fixing slot". They are most often guildgates, sometimes signets, rarely shock lands and chromatic lantern
Serialized cards are such a funny concept. "We wrote a number on these cards so they're the special ones."

As a former basketball card collector, I was wondering why Magic wasn't doing this.
Yeah it doesn't even have cool rare art, seems pretty boring and I'd much rather have the money or that many regular fetches and shock lands for that same amount of money.
Just hold out for the autographed Elesh Norn 1/1 with strange oil stain flesh patch.
This set is the first collector booster I’ve ever bought and opened, and I immediately pulled a Serialized 137/500 Voidslime. Sufficient to say i was bewildered

first collector pack I opened of this set was a 104/500 Bruvac with a borderless stomping ground, was very happy.

It amazes how much better the foiling style on the old borders cards is. Just to have that be the standard foiling it's worth going to all old boarder cards

Some reason the packs printed in Japan have the Rares in front (look on the box and it will tell you where it was printed)

Packs may be made in Japan. The way people open packs here is to flip the cards so you're looking at the magic back, and slow-roll one at a time. That way the rare is at the end and token after.
I was jealous seeing the initial price of 265. In Canada, this damn box cost me 450. Only 6 shocks and at least a serialized card (Seal of the Guildpact). Price on this is insane North of the border.

I believe the order of the cards within each pack is based on where the cards where printed/packaged.
This must be Serialized Day! I just cracked a random pack of LotR Holiday and pulled a serialized Minas Morgul (Cabal Coffers). Its a great feeling! Congrats on your pull!

sock lands can be in 5 different slots, full art, foil , rare, the gate and the charm slots.
Gratz for hitting the jackpot mate, especially the shock with a great number :) TBH I'm surprised that it took you so long to find a serialized card since i thought that you're not a person who is shy with collector boosters purchases&openings which made me think that you've got at least a single numbered card already after opening numerous boxes of collectors boosters :)
Anyway, i'm glad that you've finally received what you were looking for and not got a worthless card for your first serial numbered card :)
Personally i'm still looking for what you've just pulled but since my amount of opened collectors boosters from sets with serialized cards is tiny, between 5 and 10 at max so i'll have to wait longer with such a rate anyway but i'm not totally unlucky since i pulled mana crypt from 1 of 2 last ixalan set booster boxes recently & i still have 3rd box unopened from my purchase too. Funny thing is i pulled 2nd mana crypt week after first one but this was from mystery boosters box from secret lair and now i own 2 :)
Last thing worth mentioning is i pulled 2x caverns in a single pack from same box with mana crypt (ixalan coll) too :) My first excelent double instead of worthl3ss ones.

Dominaria remastered ordered their collector boosters in the same way with the rares first. I wonder if they do that with remastered sets for a reason or if it's just random.

Ok, so I’m dumb. How do serialized cards work? Is there 500 cards with each number being assigned to a different card, or is there like 500 stomping grounds from 1 to 500?
Yeah, there are only 500 of each made, so we got 1 of 500 Stomping Grounds in existence (and ours happened to be #435). They are super rare, in less than 1% of packs I believe.
The problem with serialized art cards is there is no demand in anyway for them. They don’t have expected long term value. Who wouldn’t rather have a duel land? For the same price
What's the next trick though with all the remastered remastered sets they are gonna sell eventually? How do they suck out even more money from the same cards?
pack that are from japan have the rare at the front usualy i dont know why but thats how it works. if a pack feels looser then usual then its prolly from japan

The market is weird. They are expensive, but not that easy too sell since a lot of players will just buy the $15 non-serialized version. It's more for collectors than players really. It takes the right person to want to buy them, basically.
