Wow, how blessed they are to have all that space though, and that is the way of FL growing if you want healthy food. Lots of organic matter, I am on the same path but slower going.. I am on the other side of FL but still so much further behind in my goals. But I will get there even if my husband keeps a lot of grass, I will go around it. Your cinematography on these tours is lovely. David the Good deserves a lot of credit for all these Food Forest Gardeners we see in our state, they just may not realize it. When people were still focused on native flowers he was growing edibles. Nice to meet you all, really enjoy Florida focused channels.

I totally can relate to her! I also struggled roughly 10 years by doing things by myself, navigating by trial and error. I learned so many stuff from books, but I soon realized that there's a huge gap between theory and practice!
Hugelkultur is something i subscribe to as well. Built my vegetable bed 3' high with that system. So far so good. And no bending over is making gardening fum for me

Hello. I live in SWFL (Arcadia) which is Zone 9b I believe.
We live on a private lake and we are very interested in Permaculture but we are just beginning our Food Forest.

Food forest should be planted like everywhere it can grow 🌳 on earth
We are doing alot of the same stuff as they're doing for building the beds and soil.
I believe this method of growing in Florida is the way to go. What type of things are you planting in those beds?
@@floridafreeliving As of now we've got the typical bananas, Barbados cherry, mulberry, Glenn Mango, starfruit, plums, elderberry, figs, avocado, Brazilian grape, peaches all three Florida verity, apples, tangerines, Valencia orange, Turkish Cap, loquats. Then all the chop and drops CanaLillys, Mexican sunflowers, lemon grass. Then vegetables annuals looking into more of what Reids nursery does with all the perennial greens.
Have you considered creating an UBUNTU community (aka, a Contributionism community)? It is a type of sustainable community that seeks to enable each of its members to pursue what makes them happy to do.
Where are you located? I'm about to buy a 4 acre pasture in Punta Gorda, no experience, a 1/4 acre pond and hardly any trees 🤞. I'm scared af.
