- Italian teenagers Piero Barone (17), Ignazio Boschetto (16) and Gianluca Ginoble (16) - otherwise known as the singing group Il Volo - will set yet another stage on fire next week with a performance on American Idol - Thursday, May 19, 2011.
Known for their incredible (and almost unbelievable) voices, Il Volo got their start in 2009 on an Italian singing competition similar to Idol, wowing the country with their version of the classic "O Sole Mio."
Since then, the boys have traveled the world promoting their self-titled debut album, certified platinum in Italy and set for release in the US on Tuesday, May 17th.
Fans can also check them out as the featured artists on the CBS Early Show's Second Cup Cafe on Saturday, May 21st.
i love it
these boys need to come to Canada, we know how to treat our guests :)
To those of you who do not know anything about Belgium and Belgians, please learn before you speak. We are a very friendly people, and have many ties with Italy and many Italians have emigrated to Belgium. Most of the audience are recipients of the Televie charity, geared towards cancer and leukemia, and this was one of the fundraising event. Frederic Francois is a major contributor and gives time and money to the charity. Did you stop one second to think that these people might be in pain?ciao
piero...what will i do to meet you ;)
The split screen thing is kinda strange and annoying bu Piero is fiiinnneeee here though. He's so GORGEOUS!!!
@HelTra91 The Télévie charity campaign is organised by RTL TVi and RTL every year. Fundraising activities take place throughout Belgium and Luxembourg and are promoted on television and radio.

Frederic Francois sings mostly in French, but is able to sing in other languages as well. His voice, however, is very soft and no one will expect him to interfere with poweful singers output.
@GerRoland Yeah, we have the same feeling about this video.
Belgium has La Poste...mailing colis'mia? Why didn't I guess that.
@GerRoland Actually it's not necessarily a Belgian thing it's the same in France !!! the guy singing with Il Volo is indeed a Belgian singer named Frederic Francois who is supposedly italian hence his presence there!!!
@TidalMermaid from the first aerial i was trying to figure out who this random man is.... and why he was there. Even with the mic he couldn't project his voice loud enough to be heard :(
BELGIAN WAFFLES and SPAGUETTI, a Fine meal!!!
is this a television program? it's so....... not like the television that i'm used to.
@GerRoland Not any different than having Jerry Lewis interfering with other artists during the Telethon fundraising, which is what Televie is. This is not a "Belgian" thing. If you look closely at the images in the other screens, you will see that those are shots of the fundraising campaign. It is a very worthwhile cause. Please educate yourself before making inane comments. We Belgians also appreciate true artistry and the so called coldness was in fact a mark of respect for IL VOLO's talent.
omg i hate those split screens and that guy is so distracting..... i love il volo!
It's so sad to read about a cold audience, WHO WAS'NT.
ONLY RESPECTFULL? and the guy singing with il volo, was invited by them, he is
famous in belgium, France, etc HE IS SICILIAN, Do not forget this audience was made of disabled and very sick children and adults, I must be sick to try to explain. Bravo IL VOLO what a great talent.
I agree with you 123violinfreakity. But I think He's a famous singer in Belgium.Perhaps he's not into singing Italian songs.
I dunno how those boys stopped themselves from laughing at that guy trying to join in. Belgian TV is weird.
2:37 perfection
The audience look bored out their minds. What's up with there?!!!
I guess they have milche too....baby craieying and ask for su lait....
I have never seen such an awful and terrible realization and a massacre of such a talented group like Il vivo - the guy who directed the cameras should be fired on the spot. Terrible. That's why I almost never watch Belgian television.
That's got to be the crappiest audience ever, who the hell is that weirdo in the middle of the group.
it pisses me off that that guy was singing with them kuz piero couldnt sing that one part lyk he usualy does kuz that guy was singing with him
