This is the best video yet on the Mazda CX-5 Auto hold. I haven't been putting a lot of pressure when I stop. My Ford Maverick only requires light pressure.

You are correct. Thank you for this important information to all Mazda owners(Probably relevant for most car brands).
I was also confused why the Auto Hold sometimes did not hold the vehicle. Auto Hold is controlling the 4 braked that are hydraulically operated by the brake pedal. This system has a pressure accumulator, that will be used to pressurize the brakes if Auto Hold has been activated. In some cases the pressure is unsufficient to activate the Auto Hold. THIS is my method to ensure a reliable and strong holding force for Auto Hold. I will normally make a soft deceleration if I need to stop. BUT when the car is STOPPED I will give the brake pedal a FIRM pressure - before I remove my foot from the brake pedal. It is so sad that this problem is NOT explained correct in the operating manual.
