I said something in an other video and people got mad. But Mariah needs to warm up. She said in Masterclass that she just does one scale to see if her whistle and low notes are there and then just goes out and sings. She’s being reckless with her voice and no amount of “vocal rest” and drinking all the tea in the world won’t help. She said this year that her voice is back to how it use to be but her only 3 performances this year were shaky at best. The last time she warmed up extensively for shows we got Beacon 2014. This isn’t nodules, age or nerves anymore. This is a choice to not train your instrument.
Sadly I think her ego wouldn’t accept that. People constantly comparing her to her “younger” self doesn’t help either. Imagine the pressure she must feel. She probably wants to keep up with her “old vocals” but at the same time she refuses to embrace her current voice. Her voice has changed, just like for every female singer and she clearly needs to change her approach from a technical standpoint but doing that would mean accepting her voice is not the same, which she obviously doesn’t wanna do. That’s how I see it at least.
You're so right, all she needs is regular voice training and recovery, she still has all those in her, and all singers needs regular vocal training session.
The comments of bashing Mariah are unnecessary. She sounds good. A bit hoarse, but the confidence is there! so she’s cominggggggggg. and her lows this year are crazyyyy. it’s 100% live and she went for the C5 note. ❤️
some people say she's more playful on stage but I think it has to do with mariah trying to compensate for the vocals that she's not delivering. it seems that she has been doing a tour and these are the last dates of it but we're in the 2nd concert after 2 years of rest... something's wrong, her voice is not responding the way she wants to
@@supbilly07 this is a lie LOL. Her voice was never the most consistent but it was literally far from shot in 1997 otherwise she wouldn’t have been able to sound similar to 1996 in 2014 🤨
@@laratheringfabian what on earth are you talking about. 1997 was when she started lipping and pre-recording and her voice noticeably changed. Please, please show me the video where she sang with 1996 vocals because THAT is the lie
Quite frankly, if you didn’t BUY a ticket to her show to see her live, stop complaining about her voice🥱 when she lips, y’all complain….when she sings live….y’all complain…it’s honestly dragged out atp
She really needs to recover. Stop the pre recorded tracks, the corsets and focus on getting her voice back at least to 2014 condition to be realistic. This is not good, she's struggling with every note. She's the GREATEST VOCALIST OF ALL TIME, and nothing will change that, I hope she gets help soon.
@@rainbowstarmced191 sadly she’s only trying to compensate the vocal struggle with more hands 😅 her entire body is tense asl in every note. She needs to relax and get rid of that damn corset it’s not doing her any good
Bless her heart, I really do love Mariah and have been a fan for 23 years. But her voice is in the worst condition it has ever been in. It sounds dry, out of breath, pitchy, thin and her belting range is pretty much gone (let's not mention her mix etc) - unless she puts her ego aside and starts seriously working on her vocal technique (and spare me the bullshit that her technique is perfect and that it's because of the nodules - the reason she's gotten them in the first place is because her technique was flawed) she's gonna continue gradually losing more and more of her voice. Those recent shows really are painful to listen to. On a lighter note - she looks absolutely amazing for almost 53. Wow.
I hate to say it cause Mariah is my favorite singer, but you've told nothing but what seems to be the truth! Seems like for a lil' bit she was on a comeback and then now it's like she's falling down all over again. I hope she's not having relationship problems. That can cause a shaky performance too.
@@supbilly07 not on her level but that's the point, she got to a level where she doesn't have many competitors bc of her vocal talent. But she's better than many popular artists of lower level today

Honestly, I'd rather see her lip sync than hear her struggle like this. She's my favorite female singer, ever, nothing will change that. She has given us vocals I could only dream a female vocalist would give us. Whitney Houston is #1 when I really look at it, but Mariah has been my rock for female vocal escapism. Nobody's perfect, not even Mariah. I don't know what happened here. Maybe she was exhausted? Maybe the air in the building wasn't good? Maybe she was having relationship issues? Maybe her voice has finally taken a toll after all these years? Maybe the sound wasn't right? Maybe a change in weather/atmospheric pressure? The possibilities go on and on and on. All we know is this isn't the Mariah voice we've been addicted to. I was worried about her in this performance and hoping that she's not only okay but hoping that she's taking good care of that angelic voice. She has taken such good care of herself for a woman that's approaching 53. I will always love her and I appreciate all the wonderful music/vocals she's brought us for over 30 years.
