I didn't like the ending. The writer made the scumbag husband sound too noble. "This is all I can do for you..." he says walking away in handcuffs .....after breaking her leg, sending her to jail, almost marrying the woman that framed her, caused her parents to die, forced her to work as a servant, physically accosted her several times, had her male friend/fiance beaten to force her to stay with him, all this and more! The audacity of this man, there is no way he could have had a shred of concern let alone love for her. She was simply an object he considered his!
