It was cool to be able to see roughly what your guys life in Toronto was like, I'm glad you'''re doing what makes you guys happy and I hope you guys get to enjoy many more years in Vallarta and Mexico as a whole!
So sweet. Goodbyes are hard even when adventures await! Super sweet video. Love it, very relatable . I’m sure I’m not alone in going through much of the same and considering a move to PV area!
Thank you! This one was definitely a personal one. We will see our friends and family again but the thought of never stepping in our little casita again is very difficult 😣
Great footage of TO, I was walking around exactly that area in VR a week or so ago. It's so sad what's happening to cities in Canada. It seems like something needs to happen to rebalance things and I'd rather not be here when it does.
Marc, thought this was a really good episode. You really captured the mood of Toronto in the fall. Toronto starts to feel gloomy. It was nice to see your Condo. A very nice place. I love the layout, character and space. Sometimes, I take the streetcar on Dundas. The area I am familiar with. You're right about the problems at. Dundas square and that corner of Ryerson is not safe to be around. Most of the time, i would just pass through. Funny, seeing you walking down Yonge street, close to my neighbourhood. The cops on horses I have seen around lately, security has risen. I imagine the food in that restaurant spot on Yonge is not bad. I haven't eaten there yet. But, I imagine nothing can compare to what Mexico has. I think you're leaving at the right time. Glad that you made it to Puerto Vallarta. Victor
Thank you Victor 🙏🏼 it’s a small world! make sure you wave at our old place for us when you ride by on the streetcar lol After being back there this summer and having owned the place for 5 years I can’t think of a single thing about that area that has gotten better - things have gotten significantly worse and it’s very disappointing! Toronto in general feels like it’s on a steep decline 🙁 That area on Yonge near Ryerson is pretty cool since you can try different international food! The Birria place also has a location in Kensington Market which I’ll probably try next time around.
It was! We also had a home birth there with Kali so it’s a very special place to us. Maybe one day we’ll win the lottery and buy it back for sentimental reasons lol
I'm glad to hear someone telling it like it is about the decline of this city. We are starting to work on our exit strategy as well. The cost of this place doesn't make sense when you're surrounded by so much addiction and poverty. Hope you have a better life in Mexico.
Wow, nice place you had up there in Toronto. You should definitely invest in Mexico. It never hurts to have your own place and use it as an investment. Mexico is growing way too fast and the real estate market is booming, and it will only get better.
It wasn’t terrible! I got my luggage right away which was good, no one needed to fill out the declaration card because they ran out, waiting in like maybe 10 minutes to get the luggage scanned and then was on my way. Very easy but it’s not high season yet and I have been on the waiting end picking up someone from the airport when their systems were down and had to wait a few hours 😩
As a Toronto resident, I can understand the appeal of selling a Toronto property (given how much they are worth) and instead living somewhere like PV, with a great quality of life. Also, it is an interesting kind of paradox that the largest single group of asylum seekers trying to immigrate to Canada currently is Mexicans, yet at the same time, a lot of Canadians are trying to immigrate to Mexico! I know partly it has to do with where people live in Mexico, as it is understandable people want to leave areas full of cartel violence. Any thoughts on this Marc? On a less political note, since I will be back in PV this winter (for a 2nd time), I am excited to hear you will do a video on the best birria tacos! I will be in 5th of December area, so I am curious about any places walking distance for us :)
Depending on when you bought it’s definitely appealing. The market being significantly down right now a lot of people are stuck in their mortgages with negative equity. From what I’ve observed and heard - Canada on an international level is still riding on its reputation from the 90’s and early 2000’s - safe, affordable, good quality of life, high paying jobs, able to start a small business, free healthcare, freedom of speech and freedom to be who you want to be! People quickly realize after spending a few months that many of those things are no longer the case…maybe in some smaller towns but definitely not in big cities. I’m also meeting a lot of Canadian and Americans born to Mexican immigrants wanting to go back to Mexico for a better quality of life - interesting how things change within just 1 generation.
As for Birria Tacos, most of our favourite ones at in 5 De Diciembre. If you want email us or msg us in Instagram or Facebook I’ll gladly share some cheap eats recommendations 😊
Certainly! Only difference is the government could have the ressources to work towards making it better but instead actively work towards making it worse!
@@Morelifediaries Every time some politician comes round wanting to press the flesh I point out that the only ones helping the homeless are religious missions and that government needs to get off their asses and address the problems instead of cutting back on services to give tax cuts to their rich friends. They thank me for my input and nothing changes.
Where this guy lives is literally 100 yards from the most dangerous intersection in Toronto. The All Saints Church and the Sam's is the epicentre of the drugs and gang epidemic, and it can be extremely dangerous there all hours of the day but particularly at night. I myself was punched in the head randomly just a few days ago by a crack girl in front of the church steps from this guy's house. All the buildings in the area are gang controlled, and the side streets right next to this poor fellow's place are chock-a-block with prostitution complete with very high ranking pimps and hustlers. I would never, ever live down there. In 1000 years. There are four or five people a week that die of overdoses there, and almost every homeless person there is on serious drugs like crack or fentanyl. I know this area very, very well as I volunteered at the church. It's truly a wasteland of human misery and sadness. Good thing you are leaving dude, all the best.
Yes we were basically across the street from the church lol It’s gotten really really bad! Oddly enough we’ve never gotten harassed but seeing sketchy stuff was a daily (multiple times per day) thing. Also, I’ve walked home from the bar many times at early morning hours and I find that it’s sketchier during the day than at night.
@@Morelifediaries I have volunteered there for six months. I walk by your house every morning, on the south side with the lofts. What I've seen is just incredible levels of violence and human misery. Glad you're leaving, sincerely. Best of luck
I have lived on the corner of Sherbourne and Dundas for 12 years. This is a huge exaggeration. Are there serious problems? Yes. But this is simply blown way out of proportion. It’s not as sketchy as it seems. It’s worse during the day funny enough. I disagree with a lot of what this person in this video has said. The area has improved from 12 years ago. Problems have shifted but things are getting better for the entire neighbourhood. Many points ring true but overall - I can’t say it’s gotten worse because trust me, it hasn’t
10:16 This isn't the reality in living in Toronto. Not fair to say that. Dundas and Sherbourne is pretty much in Regent Park. Not representative of Toronto at all!!!! You have some good points but you can't say your area is representative of Toronto!!!! Anyway, good luck on your Mexico journey
@Morelifediaries If you count all areas being destroyed to be replaced with condos nobody can afford, I agree with you. But safety-wise you can't compare that area with say Yonge and Bloor... Anyway, you're the lucky one in Mexico now, so enjoy!

Congratulations on the sale!
Thanks Holly :)
I can hardly wait to get back to PV myself, maybe we can meet at Oh Croissant when we get back there, Cheers 😊
Oh Croissant is the best! Let’s do it 🙌🏼

Toronto looks lovely. I bet it is bitter-sweet leaving the condo.

nice! we are flying down to Toronto on Sunday....any restaurant suggestions around the scotiabank arena?
Awesome! None that I would recommend lol you should check king street

Nice to see your old "hood". I am interested in the baggage claim in the P.V. airport. Is it still a mess?

@@Morelifediaries So December should be a little more hectic. I can't wait.
Definitely more hectic LOL although my parents have arrived NYE for the last few years and their experience has been good.

You don't like zombie land anymore?
Honestly haven't liked since the 3rd week of "2 weeks to flatten the curve" 😂
Great reminder of why I left the US. Drug addicts, homeless and high prices. Its much better here in PV!
It's getting insane!
What's happening in Toronto is happening everywhere. Mexico too has homeless and drug addicts on the streets. It's not just a Toronto issue.
Certainly! Only difference is the government could have the ressources to work towards making it better but instead actively work towards making it worse!
