This is amazing who ever put these out. I'm 66 years old and have decided to learn french because I just found out my birth mother was born in a little fishing village. So I took up french with Duolingo, but just the one was is not enough and was told to do things like this. Nothing seems so go as this because it uses most of your senses to learn and real life stories that you can go over and over with the beautiful artwork in these. I can't afford on pension to pay for regular classes. This is the most calming way to learn. Thank you so very much. Bless you.
Duolingo feels so slow and the sentences have no context. I think it was actually holding me back. Stories like this are perfect, each sentence has a purpose and you know why you are learning them - to understand the story!
I am 77 years young have a passion for all things French. Have lost high school and college French... my dream is to return to Paris for the opening of Notre Dame... i doubt I will climb the 267 steps to the top as I did so many years ago... remember it like it was yesterday...these lessons are fantastic. Merci❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉
Do it! I did the same and have been part of a French Conversation Group for many years. Our group is not a teaching group. It's a practice group. Look in your area for groups. I'm positive you'll find one. 😊 if you are in a large city, look into L'Aliance Française.
I’m not sure why the story is told in passé simple instead of passé compose . I taught French for 36 years and it’s rarely used and taught in USA at the end of French 3 so students can read literature in level 4. I was in France in November and didn’t hear it once .
It’s a literature verb tense that has not been spoken since the 1700’s by the litterati . Imagine in English Where goith John instead of where is John going . As a French Teacher and someone that travels there 3 times a year , I would teach present time and not start it out Once upon a time . I’d only do that so people could use what they learn today in a French Speaking country tomorrow . It is a super cute story and interesting vocabulary but the verbiage is archaic. Most reading the story want to learn French and we who teach it obviously love it !
This is a lovely way to improve one’s French. The pace is great. The additional vocabulary is readily picked up. The illustrations are beautiful and aid understanding. Keep up the good work. I am from Perth WA and am a Francophile, even though I only ever got to spend three days in Paris.
This, for me someone who needs visuals as well as vocal prompts, really does appreciate this learning style. Very nice idea to aid learning new languages. Well done and very much appreciated!! Thank you...
I LOVE this way of learning, especially stories with scenarios that one might encounter - like traveling by train and exploring a city. Being able to replay this video has really helped me get an ear for the language. Thank you for such high-quality educational content!
I am an eternal admirer of French because it is a beautiful language, but I also study English because it is super practical. So this video for me is Sensational. Thank you. Merci beaucoup
The Internet is simply fantastic when one considers all the learning opportunities. I wish it had existed when I grew up. It is such a wonderful educational tool, and for those living alone, a true treasure, as one choose to connect with people all over the world.
Love this style of learning. It helps with learning new words and sentences but alxo give a real time conversation so I could get how fast a real french conversation is spoken.
I started learning french in fourth grade and fell in love instantly. ❤ I took it again in high school and loved every minute of it. ❤ I will continue to study and learn french for as long as I live, because it is such a beautiful language. I am studying with a French tutor online at present and these stories are very helpful. Thank you so much!!
Now that I am fluent in both Portuguese and English, I find French a lot easier than before.
Awesome video. However, the narrator makes me sleepy. Oh boy... he should narrate according to the scene in the story. The story talks about the excitement Martin feels arriving to the city, but the narrator sounds like Martin is about to cry. Anyway, thanks for the lesson, it's been very helpful.
Just came across this and I've subscribed. The lessons are great for me. Thank you for putting it together. I hope there are lessons for B1, B2, C1 and C2 also.
1. Martin se prépara rapidement. 2.
Thank you, this is a great speed for listening. I understand the tense is different from spoken french and can see that the translation is not always accurate but it's great way for me to hear the language as I do find that difficult. And at the right level for me to progress.
1rapidment 2.
Oh my god! this is exactly the method of learning new languages I was looking for, the best way to learn a new language😻 your work is amazing please make us happy with new videos👌🏻👌🏻❤️❤️
Very nice. The English subtitles were helpful, although the writing (I think) is plenty. Hearing English, on the back of French, was a distraction to being able to absorb the French. I am making an attempt to block that part, each time, from my mind..so I can (try) to keep with the mindset of the French😊

💫 Congratulations 🇺🇲🇫🇷 👏
Superbe. ( presque 80) 😊

This was great, thank you. I have learned French at school, I didn't use, so I lost. Now I want to retrieve, because I love French.

Never spoken, only used for litterature, written stories.
wtf? They speak differently?

@@sleepycritical6950 Yes, never with this verb tense.
I know. Few used the passe simple in conversation, so not a good use of early learners time imho
Bon voyage!
J’etudie francais avec Duolingo. Je vais a Paris aussi!!
Moi aussi, on y va !!!!

I like this better than the previous style where there are 3 scenarios. This is a quicker way to immerse yourself!
Thank you! I loved it. I'm Brazilian, and I have been studying French by Duolingo, but that is not enough.
Mee too
At some point it happened it’s
Martin should not been traveling by himself. I was concerned about him even though he does not exist. Great story tho😅

@@AnastasiyaOvechkina-xq6yd C'est littéralement écrit dans le titre de la vidéo
