I've been to the Christ the redeemer twice,also been to the Statue of Liberty in NYC where I took a peak from the head of the statue and had an amazing view of the lower Manhattan, but the view from the Christ looking down the city of Rio and surroundings is just breathtaking!!!
You were lucky to have few people because it's usually so crowded that you can barely walk. This building, all lit up, is the Laranjeiras Palace where the governor of Rio de Janeiro is located.
That explains a lot! i went later on in the day around 6pm. Thanks for clearing up what that building was, i was wondering why it was so heavily guarded

Brow, really nice video... man you need come to south Brazil, first come to Curitiba after u can go to see Foz do Iguaçu Falls. After u can see the Balneário Camboriú(BR Dubai) after go to Florianópolis. Maybe u can visit a German City - Blumenau. This 2 capitals Curitiba and Florianópolis are very safe in compare to another capitals.

Don't go to Parana. It's the most racist place in Brazil. Also is not that cool. Idk if someone told u about Minas Gerais, but it's a great state with a rich culture and food. Also, Rio de Janeiro is beautiful, Salvador is great, and we have a lot of other nice places like Amazonas, Pará, Maranhão, Sergipe etc. Hope u're enjoying Brazil

The christ Redeemer is absolutely amazing. I haven't been to the statue of liberty yet but I want to go to experience it as well
