  • People ask me about the cost to get a simple setup: "Just a Sequential LED Strip" and I genuinely want them to know whats involved in working with these custom parts, and the time needed to just assemble one of these strips.
    Make sure you're in the Discord server to ask questions and hang out with other builders!
    I'll do some follow ups to this, including some training for programming custom animations into the strip, with endless possibilities for your show modes!

      Got your bicolor on 3 channels now too 😁. I swear you must be the only one, I don't think most people know what they are or the benefits.

    Amazing!! Been binge watching all your videos to gain as much info about lighting as I can before I work on my own setup. I do want to see you mess with a morimoto sealed 3 projector(headlight) but because they're new from morimoto and I'm thinking of using one for my build.

    Perfect timing on this video since i literally just received my led Stripz from Yunique Led!
    I got a board of white/ amber and a board of red / amber.
    Just a couple weeks ago, i also got these same style led panels but from corsomotion that I had custom made with red and white leds.

    Thank you for your insightful videos. I am in South Africa. I have a 2012 Suzuki Kizashi which came without drls. I bought the twenty dollar 23 inch flexible strips and stuck them with white 3m double-sided tape inside bottom of lenses and curved them to the sides of lenses. (Forward facing)
    They have functioned without fail since 2019. I feel it's now time for upgrade but keep the appearance simple as it is. (I can send a video clip).
    I basically want more led's per strip. What is the best you can do if your strips cannot curve gently and at what price?
    Jay.

    Really awesome video. Thanks a lot for this. What surprises me, however, that YuniqueLED still sells exLED LED emitter products, although exLED has not received any responses to inquiries for several years. Unfortunately, I haven't had a good experience with the Koreans. Many greetings from Dresden Germany ....

    Do you not use soldering flux for small components? I do DIY electronics occasionally as a hobby, and soldering flux helps quite a bit in keeping molten solder from shunting small connections by making the solder stay on the metal pads.

    Make a board with a few drilled holes so you don't lose the ends of the cables, if you aren't removing the spools all the time

    Faster way to tin the cables: solder heat pot, keeps a bath of solder where you can just dip the cable in to tin it

    • @flyryde
      @flyryde  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My cable for the heat pot is trashed, and that thing kinda freaks me out to be honest.

    • @Tarex_
      @Tarex_ 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@flyryde you work with cables all day yet the one useful one is trashed haha, jk, well, yet it is the easiest version, or let's call it most comfortable, you could also use flux, sticks like honey, is cold, makes the solder flow on the cables easier, but is double the work ;)

      These are a two channel or bicolor LED. Just like a RGB LED is a 3 channel. Not to be confused with bipolar LEDs which are typically 2 color also but they only have 1 set of connections.
      Bi color is available from most parts houses like Mouser or even super bright LEDs. They also come in a 5mm through hole if your just starting and want something a little easier to work with.
